I understand that in the cause of duty,as a govt official you may skip protocols if need be but no one should tell me that it is wrong for the president to obey traffic rules.
exactly, nothing! It is all for d president's safety. Do u know people can actually cause traffic just to carry out dier evil acts since d president has given order to his convoy to obey traffic rule. He must enjoy special protection as d president. D man has spoken well

This guys do not care about the well being of the president. You forget we have terrorist in our country. Do i have to break it down for you?

Step 1. Wait at stop light with rocket launcher.

Step 2. Once president obeys traffic rules, fire rocket launcher at motorcade.

Step 3. Keep firing.

Nigerians are really stu.pid. If we have to measure it on the stupidindicator scale of 1 to 10, it will be a 20.

A terrorist armed with rocket launcher does not need a stop before attacking

A moving target is more difficult to hit than a stationary one. I know this for a fact. Which would you prefer, sit in traffic or keep moving. But that is not the point. Nearly all assassinations are done when the intended target is out of their living quarters.

This is not a matter of apportioning blame, lets emulate sanity and not inanity. The president is a citizen of the country, hence he is subjective to the rule of law. We all complained bitterly when Lagos-Abeokuta exp way use to be closed whenever OBJ is going to ota farm from Lagos airport, now someone wants to inculcate sanity and some people are saying another thing.
The man said he wants it that way then let it be, besides why should anyone want to kill the president.

This is Obama's Convoy stuck in traffic In South Africa.

People in their cars got a glimpse of him and took pictures

Dont know what this man is talking about

Securing a president has a lot to do with top level intelligence than blocking traffic for hours

And this is 21st century most President cars are both bullets and bomb proof

Because he stopped for traffic doesnt mean the outriders wont secure both the car leading and last car in the convoy

No car will be beside them or allowed to get close to the Convoy
I doubt if president Obama was in that motorcade, that looks like the beast, it was probably empty.

You can't drive next to his motorcade in the US, every road is shut down in all directions until he passes through, talk less of in a foreign country.

The man is saying the truth.

No presidential motorcade anywhere in the world is subjected to traffic rules, traffics are always blocked whenever and wherever a presidents goes.

Is not about been humble or leadership by style, is all about national security.

Whoever gave buhari the idea of obeying traffic rules, doesn't have good intentions for him.

Every second delayed in the open space while transporting the president is a security risk

Is Akinyemi now a President? Why crying as a visitor more than the child of the bereaved? Common Mopols and Police Officers flout this law with ease with no restrictions. If Presidency is flouting the law, is it not the same citizen that will be claiming all animals are equal?

If a President is so weak to the extent that he cannot protect his life in a Junction whenever he is visiting any part of Nigerian, I don't think he deserves to be a CIC.

That you chose to explain it is laughable.

I was only trying to see if there are a few presidents who chose to obey traffic rules. Nothing more.

someone have already given an example of a country where the president obeys traffic laws: Newzealand

Unnecessary. Mahatma Ghandi was killed by a man bowing to him.
Re: Buhari's Order On Escorts, A Security Risk- Akinyemi by ollyruffy: 7:24pm On May 11, 2015
I think this is possible. It is just to review the security details of the motorcade. Then he must ride in bullet proof vehicles.

With appropriate technology, it is possible.

Again a detailed security risk assessment must be performed with all prevention and mitigation measures fully implemented.

bbuhari is just getting carried away with this good man disciplined man shit .please ask him if his security outfit ever obeyed traffic laws when he was the head of state in 1984. Infactct we had what was called ROAD CLOSED boldly written behind a fully armed army truck. That was good 45 to 1hr before he showed up. Then comes the ROAD OPEN 15mins + after his departure. The young ones here never witnessed this. Please seek clarification from your folks. Mostly those that resided in lagos cos it was the seat of power then.

I witnessed "Road Closed" under those military guys a couple of times. Those old Range Rovers and old some open Van like vehicles were what they used.

I will quote my source at the end of this post.

I hope that will clear your doubts

Also I can remember vividly when this happened. The picture that was taken under the rain was taken by a south african driving next to obama and he tweeted about it

And a waste of Presidential Man hour. Imagine the President always coming late to attend to critical national issues and he says; Sorry, I was caught up in traffic. Nigerians are more concerned about effective leadership than a show of humility and gentleness. That is one thing GEJ ddnt learn on time.

Professor Akinyemi has spoken well as a diplomat.even in the USA with all its high security and intelligence the President's convoy is not subject to traffic regulations. more so Nigeria has grown so wild dat we now see suicide bombers everywhere.this is not aa question of humility but dat of national security which should not be toyed with or sacrificed on the altar of humility. As a President there are things u would have no choice about despite the fact that they might be perceived as below morals but for the security of the nation u must do it or face the security risk.this was one of the reasons why the GEJ government has been seen as weak for failing to curb the excesses of BOKO HARAM thinking dat the sect would stop.

PLEASE DEAR GMB DO NOT SACRIFICE OUR NATIONAL SECURITY ON THE ALTAR OF HUMILITY
