A welcome development but it should cover all earnings and not just restricted to salaries alone
Re: Buhari Urged To Slash Presidency, National Assembly Expenses By 50% by omojeesu(m): 8:18am On May 12, 2015
Please, GMB don't take this advice! Just focus on the more FUNDAMENTAL issues of changing Nigeria for the better. We the people should be the ones to demand download review of outrageous income of political office holders. If you try, they will fight you with their blood. That would be a great distraction to you and disservice to Nigeria and Nigerians. May God give you wisdom.

If only the NASS will allow that, but its going to be difficult to achieve. Careless expense is already in their blood.

If Nigerians of all walks of life rally round to demand National Assembly members cut down their salary packages, am sure they will heed to the call.
Its the duty of all Nigerians to hold their lawmakers responsible.
I think the fight would be too great that buhari might leave it till later , he would have to battle these shameless NA members , he can slash excess and waste from executive controlled agencies and ministries first.

A good way to slash NA expenditure is to introduce a referendum clause into the constitution and then use the people to implement the change.
Buhari biggest hammer is the electorate

I second your idea. We need to sensitise Nigerians, so that a rally would be organized to ask them to cut their earnings by more than have. I think that will get the job done. They need to know that those they are representing are complaining

This is a very welcome idea which should be pursue and achieved in this incoming administration. GMB should know that he definitely needs to get things very right and by so doing he should channel this course by leading the movement.

Their salaries needs to be reduced. We need genuine leaders who have the love of the Nation at heart. Slashing their take home would be the best welcoming gift GMB can do to kick-start this incoming administration.

GMD! kindly do the needful.
Thanks.
