Syncan:thanks for giving me ur date, i would have no problem if you pick a psalm for me. I guess there are no laws that says I can't have 3 psalms instead of 2. Anyway, I'll chose ps 19, i'll fight the temptation to add ps 20. |

jnrbayano:MariaGoreti, May the LORD answer you when you are in distress; may the name of the God of Jacob protect you. May he send you help from the sanctuary and grant you support from Zion. May he remember all your sacrifices and accept your burnt offerings. May he give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed. May we shout for joy over your victory and lift up our banners in the name of our God. May the LORD grant all your requests now and always. |

Syncan:Another nice story attributed to Einstein but I fail to see the relevance of the story. Definitions or an ability to carry out an objective study of an 'item' does not determine what exists or not; otherwise we could say that God does not exist based on the same principles he applied. My question to you is yet unanswered. |
| Re: A Thread For Catholics by Syncan(m): 7:47pm On May 11, 2015 |
darknez:Really? That's not true, for the existence of God is proven Objectively by studying the effects to arrive at the cause. However you may want to tell me then what determines what exists? So I can know how darkness is covered by it. |

Novena day 3: Tomorrow 12th May, we are praying specially for Ubenedictus Novena prayers O God, infinite beauty. Wretched as we are, we approach in humility your throne, with thanksgiving and pettition. Thanksgiving for the numerous mercies received from you, and petition for the many needs that weigh heavily on us. Look kindly upon our prayers, especially that of Ubenedictus who we pray for today, and of mine(you may add yours), through the merits of the passion of your son, our Lord Jesus Christ. Pray for us dearest mother Mary, as we offer you this ten roses of hail mary, with eyes filled with hope and fillial love. Amen. 10 Hail Marys. Psalm 138 I will praise you, Lord, with all my heart; before the “gods” I will sing your praise. I will bow down toward your holy temple and will praise your name for your unfailing love and your faithfulness, for you have so exalted your solemn decree that it surpasses your fame. When I called, you answered me; you greatly emboldened me. May all the kings of the earth praise you, Lord, when they hear what you have decreed. May they sing of the ways of the Lord, for the glory of the Lord is great. Though the Lord is exalted, he looks kindly on the lowly; though lofty, he sees them from afar. Though I walk in the midst of trouble, you preserve my life. You stretch out your hand against the anger of my foes; with your right hand you save me. The Lord will vindicate me; your love, Lord, endures forever— do not abandon the works of your hands. Special request...Psalm 19. The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament showeth his handiwork. Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night showeth knowledge. There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard. Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun, Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, and rejoiceth as a strong man to run a race. His going forth is from the end of the heaven, and his circuit unto the ends of it: and there is nothing hid from the heat thereof. The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple. The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes. The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether. More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward. Who can understand his errors? cleanse thou me from secret faults. Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression. Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer |

| Re: A Thread For Catholics by Nobody: 6:31am On May 12, 2015 |
Syncan:No! That's not the principle the dude applied. The principle of Cause and Effect can be applied to those phenomenon he dismissed as nonexistent. Whatever cannot be experienced does not exist. Darkness and cold can be experienced, hence their existence. Same with God! |

| Re: A Thread For Catholics by Syncan(m): 10:45am On May 12, 2015 |
darknez:I'll give one last shot at this in this manner. Cold is just a name coined for the experience of absence of heat, that's why it's unit is the unit of measurement of heat. You measure cold to the degree of heat absence, that's why you say -40C for instance, since heat is measured in Celsius. So no matter how cold something is, it is still "said to be" in relation to the degree of heat absence. Hence Cold is not a thing, but heat is. Same principle applies to darkness and light but not with God. That's my take on it bro which I'll leave you with...maybe till some other time. Hope you're praying with us. |
