It is no longer news! Some graduates are even willing to work for free so that they can garner experience. The amazing thing is that some of these graduates that apply for marketing jobs can actually sell things for themselves and earn up to N20,000/month. It is all about orientation. It is high time our youths developed their entrepreneurial skills. I suggest this link. http://businessinfohub.com

We all know the economy is bad. These days, most companies won't employ unless on contract basis. The best thing now is to acquire a skill and leave the peanut paying employers.

Deprofessional:

The question we should ask is how many hours does he/she put in the teaching in a week? Most of these low paying private school teachers don't really do anything in school. They hardly spend up to 2 hours in the school in a day. Some of them come to school only 2 days in a week with a lot of excuses for the other days in the week.

So, before we conclude that N6,000.00 is nothing, we also have to look at their responsibilities in their respective work places.

point made and i guess this happenes more in the rural areas

YOUR INCOME VS YOUR EXPENSES.
If I ask you how many are your regular expenses, you may not be able to give an instant answer until you pick up a pen and list them. Why? They are very many! And that is just the regular and predictable ones. How about the unforeseen ones? What if I also ask, how many sources of income do you have? Will it take so long before you answer? No! Why? Not as many. May be just one or two. Again, how often and at what rate does your present source(s) grow? Is it corresponding to the rate and how often your expenses show up? Mostly no! The reality is that while expenses come uninvited, you must take conscious effort before income comes. Living has costs! That is why you hear cost of living. What are you doing at the moment to increase your income level? In a country where almost all infrastructures are provided by the individuals, you can be sure that it is not safe to depend on one income or sit and not do anything to augment your income. While it is normal to blame the government as we always do, has that in anyway changed the situation? No! Someone says the new government will change all that. Well I hope so too. That was how we have been hoping since 1999 and seriously we should keep hope alive. But while we do that, age is counting and responsibilities are mounting. I was a teenager in 1999, now I'm a father! If this new administration will usher in our age-long elusive desires I will be so glad. But, suppose they are there for the next 8years and they fail like previous ones! How old would I be by 2023? God forbid the situation remains as it is in our public universities. Will you be able to afford the cost of private school education for your children by then? If you say you will manage the public universities like that for your children not minding the incessant strikes, what of the challenge of securing admission? Even public universities education is getting costly for the average Nigerian. While we pray, lets take some steps. May God bless our efforts. Amen. What inspired this write up? I just got alerted on my UBA account from my second income as I do every two weeks and it's open to every interested person. It costs me N3,000 to start but God is using it to help me gradually. I'm available at 08065471341. Thanks for reading.

Unemployment get level sis. U shld understand dat if a graduate could take up a job of 6k monthly to survive, you ought to understand dat no where on earth such a person can get cash to acquire any skill or start any small biz. Feeding itaelf might b a problem for d person. A person dat can boast of 10k monthly on his own will in no way take up such job, so where on earth does "start something small" (as pple normally call it) or "acquire skill" hold for such person. After all, ds skills n biz are not free in its totality.

Be self employed by cutting some parts of your body to sale to get initial capital?
This is so serious, I have just discovered that some people live in this jungle called Nigeria, but do not know what is going on this country. Especially those who are comparably doing well.
The way this PDP led government has raped the economy of this nation for the past 16 years of oil boom, only God that knows how best to reward them.
If you go to find out the work load of most UNIVERSITY GRADUATES that earn less than #10,000 per month, it may suprise you to know that most of them are required to deliver not less than 12 lessons every day excluding assessment work and other extra curricula activities.
Some School prorietors/proprietress even insist that you attend their church if not, be ready to loose the job.

Low Salaries is something we can rather call unavoidable, so what we should be talking of is a way out.

Here are Ten Helpful Tips for Low Salary Earners

3. Find the free stuff.

In towns of any size, there are resources available for the impoverished, from free dinners at churches to food giveaways to soup kitchens. The library provides free entertainment in the forms of books, music, and internet access. There are parks, recreational activities, and countless other things even in the smallest of rural towns. Look around for the free stuff and use it – it’s there for everyone to utilize.

...kindly drop your number because some peeps are willing but got no capital for it cool cool
Self employment is the real deal. I have a lot of unemployed friends whose parents could fund them with about 50k to 200k but the problem is they don't all want to do petty business.

I've been unemployed since 2013. My last trial at Guinness late last year opened my eyes. I wasn't given a job with them after going though their various tests for the position of sales executive. After failing to secure a job with them, I started my own business with about 150k and I repaired an old car we got to transport my goods. Now I am my own sales executive and I have an employee who doesn't do much and I pay him 12k a month and he's just a school cert holder. Now I make cool money much more than Guinness could pay me as a new intake. Infact I am glad it didn't work out with them. I regret not thinking about being self employed much earlier. I feel like I just wasted 2years waiting for that dream job.

I didn't mean to bore u with my story but most graduates out there can afford the capital to start something small but we all want to work for a reputable company where we can dress corporately cos that's the dream.

Let's learn to start small. With dedication and commitment and prayer, we will get bigger.

A journey of a thousand steps begins with one step.
Before you learn to fly, you must learn how to walk....you can't fly into flying.
Most people think that for you to be self-employed, you must have hundreds of thousands or millions before you can start.
But that's not true. You can start from somewhere, no matter how little.
I keep saying this, cos I passed thru it and survived, even when no one thought I couldn't. I'd rather be a labourer or driver than collect just 6k in a month.
