These men have lost nothing, their purported loss would be the bench mark for defining politics in Nigeria moving forward. Nigerians wld learn soon that political prostitutes like buhari and atiku have nothing to offer Nigeria other than promoting regional and secterian interests in an already divided country. No true captain jumps ship when its running aground on sea. True captains sink with their ship. In death the remain alive, posterity rembrs them for their sacrifice, its only in Nigeria that someone can be a member of 8 political parties and still ask d electortes to vote for him. A man who stands for everything stands for nothing. Aliyu and Lamido have writen their names in gold. We are in dear need of stable men like these. |

TheSonOfMark: Rotimi Amaechi is one of d biggest winners in d elections. Going forward, d lion of Ubima has demonstrated clearly to d whole nation dat he possesses d virtues dat ar needed in our democracy & in d new nigeria dat we aspire 4. Nigeria needs more Amaechis & should he contest 4 any national elective office, he will hav d votes of d patriotic majority. When d nation's history is written, his name will be written in gold for he is a national hero & a truly detribalized patriot. Realizing dat GEJ had failed nigeria monumentally, Amaechi unlike majority of his kinsmen was able to rise above petty considerations & withdrew his support frm someone who had shown clearly dat he lacked what it takes to run a complex nation like ours. Amaechi chose, in d national interest, to step up & risk his political career by joining d leadership of a movement to save nigeria frm a clueless, confused & overwhelmed leader. Unfortunately bigots continue to pour oppprobium on dis patriot who jettisoned his tribal affiliation in d larger interest of our nation. Nigeria owes dis patriot tons of gratitude. |

They don't need to leave the PDP and if they don't they will have proven themselves true democrats. Personal losses are insignificant to the polity and country in general as long as democracy constantly wins which it has done since 1999. The APC will go through the same process of boom-bust because the only constant thing in life ironically is change. |

utytill:I believe that will be the power axis to challenge at the poles in 2019. It will be interesting to see who the principals will be but I anticipate a fifty-fifty split between old PDP and defectors from the APC. Also watch out for flamboyant governors who have amassed massive war chests, the likes of Akpabio to strive at some stage. |

TheSonOfMark:Your hatred for Amaechi who has moved from local/regional politics to national politics has blindfolded you to the extent that you don't even realize that GMB's administration has not yet started. The defeat this Amaechi brings about for your clueless President still dey hitch you for body, I swear...... |

I salute their courage. I will always have respect for them. What ever must have informed their decision, I see them as real men. They are the heroes of democracy. Not political prostitutes. |

TheSonOfMark:Please excusé moi Ameachi did what was needed, have you forgotten so soon how 16 was greater than 19 in the governors forum? Have you forgotten how dame mama peace dragged mic from Ameachi during a speech? Have you forgotten how bodyguards stopped Ameachi from greeting president Jona before presidents of Malawi and Liberia as well as the world? Remember how military was used to stop him from leaving Rivers state? Have you forgotten how Rivers state government private air craft was impounded? And Ameachi was not allowed to fly out of the state. Do you remember that Rivers allocation was cut? Have you forgotten that Rivers state allocation was later seized? You seem to not know that Rivers state oil wells were shared to Bayelsa and imo (imagine this the people of Soku are rivers people the Soku is in rivers state but the oil well in Soku belongs to Bayelsa state) Ameachi wanted to demolish water front shacks which had heavy militant and cultists activities and we're all illegal guess what Mama showed up telling them he cannot do it I can go on and on no state suffered more than Rivers under this regime, worse of all Jonathan attended school in Rivers he lived in Rivers for a long time and his wife is from Rivers so everyone expected he would do a lot for Rivers go to Rivers today and ask people to point out one thing Jonathan and his administration did you will find nothing he didn't do the refinery clean the waters improve standard of living nothing Be gone with you Ignoramus get your facts right before plunging into arguments head first |
