PASTOR OSAGIE IZE-IYAMU WROTE ON COMRADE GOVERNOR ADAMS OSHIOMHOLE WEDDING INVITATION:
A week ago, I received a surprise invitation
from an unexpected source. The Comrade
Governor, Adams Oshiomhole was
remarrying after the unfortunate demise of
his first wife, Clara and he was personally
inviting me to attend the ceremony. I
deliberately consulted with a lot of people
and was frankly not surprised at the varied
responses I got. While many warned me not
to go near there, others cautioned that it
was a trap that could bring political
embarrassment. The diplomats proffered a
middle of the road approach, which was;
don’t attend but send a high powered
delegation. A few however saw it as a
personal event and advised that I should go.
I thank those I consulted because the bible
declares that in the multitude of counsel,
there is safety. I just returned from the
wedding and I’m glad I went. Why did I go?
Why shouldn't I have gone? The governor
himself invited me. People seem to forget
that I’m first a pastor before being a
politician. What example do I send if my
politics like others is characterized with
hatred, enmity and bitterness. The book of
ecclesiastics talks about times and seasons.
There is a time for politics, the contestation
for power, and there is a time for peace, the
consolidation of governance. We have
fought bitterly, an election for power and
the war for now is over. It is now time again
to make peace. The Comrade Governor could
not marry in the time of war, so he waited
for the war to end. We thank God that the
war did not escalate and we appreciate the
combatants, their armies and indeed the
Nigeria people for the return to normalcy. I
thank the Comrade Governor for the civility
in inviting me, in spite of our known political
differences and I sincerely pray that God will
bless his marriage.
I congratulate his beautiful wife and hope
she will be able to manage him, the way
Comrade Clara, our charming, prayerful and
humble late first lady did.
Am I thinking of going back to the APC? No!
No! No! I have moved on and I have no
regret. I wish the Comrade Governor joy in
his new marriage and to Edo people, I say
The Future Is bright!

He is worried and troubled by his conscience with the impression that the party he belongs might be doubtful in his loyalty. And this is to clear the air about what they may think about what led him to this extent as a politicial first and secondly a pastor
