Bros, the places u mentioned are my terrain. I can tell of what is happening in those states as regards game. Edo is still ahead. Most game men in our higher institutions of learning are from Edo state. Delta, Rivers;yes, Edo still leads.
I beg to disagree sir! I've been in Edo for most of my life but have never saw cultism in such large scale as I saw in Delta

I'm not chanting. This is just a dirge for the fallen soldier.
He's not a Soldier, not even anywhere near being one. Soldiers are brave, patriotic and serve the common good of the people of their country.

He's a common criminal. A miserable fool who must have brought various tears and pains to the lives of his victims& finally family.

Now he rests in hades where criminals & cowards go.

Nobody is stopping you from joining any cult of your choice, but don't expect sympathy from the public when you finally end up miserably as you definitely will do.

Bros, I no fit argue sha, but do u realise Delta comprises of Delta North, Central and South. For the fact that u saw something like that in a particulare LG does not make it a Delta thing. Sir, when I say Edo, I mean everything that make up that state. A state where old men are in one confra or the other. Children are not left out. Show me any big name in Edo state who is not associated with a confra. I guess u r limiting ur Edo state to Benin. Oga, u don go Uromi, Ekpoma, Auchi, Afuze etc. Bros, even the wretched ones are members of confraternities in this state. I may not want to start telling u my ordeal in Edo state. Let's just leave it at that. Anything anyone believes in, let him continue untill the last day.

Nothing ever changes in Nigeria for good. So-called undergraduates still behaving like primitive thugs. By now they should understand that confraternity is a good force and not for senseless violence.

from my understanding you seem ready to make amends, but without admission of guilt or taking responsibility again i repeat partly!, which i believe is also human, one would assume that you are not ready to move on, earlier you asserted that it seems like fun initially, now am not trying to be the judge here, am just trying to comprehend what goes on in the minds of folks like you, in your previous post you were not neccerssarily applauding but making excuses for this thugs.
You might be getting me wrong.

My admission of any wrong doing in my life course should be to my creator because He is the ultimate judge. Yes I said it seems like fun INITIALLY. This evidently means at a point in time, it became disgusting.

My use of the example of Saul who later became Paul evidently points to coming out of ignorance to thread the right path. When Saul went to the Caiaphas the chief priest to get legal authorisation to persecute Christ's followers, he felt he was on the right path. He was also there watching over the clothes of those who stoned Stephen to death.

Along the line, he came across the truth and made a complete U-turn. He became the persecuted one, he suffered ship wreck, he was flogged yet he clung to his new found faith right to the end.

If my statement about them fighting for an ideology is what you mean by making excuse for them, you didnt get me quite well. I would still refer to Saul/Paul. The ideology that Christ's followers were to be killed was what he initially had and later in life, the ideology changed and his personality changed.

You see, many of the 'Frat' boys are DISILLUSIONED. Some are desirous of being AMONG. There are others who are only looking for a cover to carry out their bad activities that are inherent in them. These 2 groups will foment trouble at the slightest instance. Many were just intimidated to join and felt they had no choice, these are the ones who run away at the slightest smell of trouble. In all, a basic ideology is in each person. So long as he believes in that ideology, he's bound to engage in antisocial activities.

The questions i would like to ask however is 'what can the society at large do to stop this menace'?
After identifying WHAT to do, WHEN will we take action?

Until then these boys/babes/dudes/chicks will continue in their lines of action and the menace keeps growing.

Is asking u to be an ambassador of ur state too much to ask? How many times have u been intimidated by Kabaka? I'm an Edo born and bred and things really ain't as bad as u are painting em. If u've really been to Uniben or even stay in Benin, u would have heard of Ekosodin and it's fabled notoriety. Well guess what? I stayed there all through my undergraduate days and if things really are as u say, coulda been an easy prey for molestation(was just 18 and looked 16) but no one molested me all through my stay there. Truth is, things ain't as bad as u people paint it to be
I stayed at ekosodin 2003 to 2004. Omo apartments down edo street. Stayed at adolor, osasogie, bdpa. The fact that it never affected you doesn't mean the thing isn't getting out of hand. It's worse than you know. You simply don't see anything wrong again because it's now normal level. Kabaka's akugbe boys have smashed windscreen of a bus I boarded. I was at akpakpava the day Kabaka controlled his brother Capuepue to drill Edes since they are both eiye and Edes died. I've stayed in many cities so I'm being objective here. Don't try to coat it. This town needs major changes.

i get you quite alright, and i applaud you for speaking out, seeking for solution is also a good idea, i hope other potential thugs/cultist take a leave from your experience its been facsinating having this conversation i ve learnt a lot from it which is the most important life is all about experience and working towards getting it right were one got it wrong, incase you are wondering my curiosity i was a thug/gang member, some thing one thought was ok at that time, having grown up one realises that it was irrelevant, yes there are also reasons why some one might join a gang/cultist be it due to low self esteem, bullying or otherwise the most important is been able to recognise ones mistakes and to put it right, i would say Good luck. If i may, having been through all this, what are your plans for the future?

Now, lemme tell u. I was born and brought up in Edo north(Auchi area). Schooled in Edo central (Benin area). Won't argue that there are cults in Auchi, Benin and Ekpoma but can u tell me any campus community in Nigeria that is free from this malaise? Also pls which institution of higher learning Is in Sapele, Agbarho, Ekakpamre, Ughelli and Ekpan?

One just have to agree that the governor of edo state adams oshiomole only major achievement in edo state for that past 8 years is the elevation and promotion of cultism to an unprecedented height and level. What will eventually happen in future is that cultism will determine the direction and progress of the state. Soon ,the police won't be able to control criminal activities in the state ,because those criminal activities will be carried out by cultists, whose members will most likely be influential individuals in the state govt .

It is no longer news that several youths have
been killed in a gruesome manner in the recent
cult war in Benin City, Edo State capital.

The renewed cult war, which has left a lot of
casualties loitering the street of Benin has
reportedly calm down following the deployment
of the federal crack squad ordered by the
Inspector General Police, Mr Solomon Arase.
Before the IG’s deployment of special squad,
bodies of young men had littered everywhere
in the metropolis.

Meanwhile, some of the cult groups have
started burying their own, which they call
“fallen soldiers” or “victim of war.”
Some members of the Supreme Eiye
Confraternity (Bird men), popularly known for
wearing blue beret, were recently pictured,
burying one of their own in Benin City.

Meanwhile, it was gathered that one of the
state government officials that were arrested
on Wednesday, May 13, by the federal crack
squad deployed by the IG to curb the senseless
killings in the state, identified the man
wearing a half face cap with a bandana tied
around it as, Engr. David Olukoga.

46-year-old Olukoga, is the Chairman, Edo
State Committee on War Against Indiscipline
and Senior Special Assistant on Youth
Enhancement to the state governor.

From the pictures below, you will see several
members of the eiye secrete cult group
wearing the War Against Indiscipline (WAI) vest
alongside the cult’s blue beret on their head
during a burial possession.

Edo State has been marred with cult
activities in recent times. The major
opponents have been the Eiye, , and
Maphite groups.

Some days back, officials of the Edo state
police command arrested 11 people including
four state government officials suspected to
be leaders of different cult groups in the
state.
