I have been to KSA, UAE and Qatar and I can tell you that what these people have been able to achieve in their short period of embrasing modernization, even most western countries of the world cannot boast of it.

But Under a monarch, you're stuck for life. If he's bad, tough luck. Nothing the people can do about it except with serious bloodshed.

How many are lucky to have monarchs that care about development and not only self aggrandizement?

So one good example of monarchy does not mean it beats democracy everywhere.

The leader is lord over the lives of the people and can take life if he so pleases. Eesh. So pre-Christ.

I partially agree with your assertion given our own nature and culture in Africa and some other nations; especially since we have long abandoned our own natural system

However, democracy cannot be said to be the only right system for the entire world. There are many examples to show where attempts to force democracy on the people have resulted in catastrophe.

Democracy will not work for the Arabs as it completely negates their culture and traditional governance system. The only Gulf country (Kuwait) with a very close semblance to democracy is not flourishing as the rest. There is always unrest at regular intervals.

Iraq though was not a democracy but look at what is happening there since the attempt to force democracy on them.

It is not a coincidence that all Gulf countries are prospering under monarchy while many western and African nations who have jettisoned their traditional form of governance are struggling.
