Jigawa State governor, Sule Lamido, yesterday handed over the state administration to his Secretary to State Government (SSG) Lawan Abdu Babura, a week to inauguration of a new government.
This, he said, will allow him proceed on his annual leave.
Lamido flew out from Dutse International Airport amidst tears from his supporters and well wishers.
In a chat with journalists after his last executive council meeting, Lamido thanked his cabinet members, civil servants and the people of Jigawa State for their support and contribution to his government in the last eight years.
He, however, announced that his commissioners and all other government functionaries would continue in office until 12 midnight of May 29, 2015.
“We have done our best in discharging our statutory responsibility to our mother state; together we achieved the success recorded in the last eight years,” the governor said.
Lamido urged the people to give the necessary support to the incoming state government to enable it work for the betterment of the state.
“Jigawa State government is the government of Jigawa people under whatever political party, if it succeeds, it will be at the advantage of them and if it fails it would be at our own detriment”, he said.

No matter where you run to or how soon you do that, if your tenure got enough issues to look into, you shall be found!!! No more impunity

Just wondering the rational behind this action when he can easily hand over to an incoming governor on the 29th and save himself all the embarrassment. One can easily assume that Lamido is running away from EFCC. He is now making a second mistake after failing to join PDP governors to APC.
