No wonder some parts of Nigeria worship the White Man. If as recent as 1870s the elite's wives were dressing like this, what of their common people?
they will move naked showing the kpekus

That's not a fair depiction of all pre-European beauties, these women from Awka in the 1890s are pretty:

God bless whoever invented Bra. I just can't imagine walking without a bra. I just can't imagine that!
You can't imagine? In the Western world, wearing a bra is just a matter of preference. There was nothing like modern Bra when this picture was taken not even in Europe. But women used all sorts of materials to hold their bosoms.

You should have asked them to produce images of their women from their part of Nigeria so we can see if they also worship white people now.

The present Amanyanabo of Opobo is a direct descendant of King Jaja. He's the fifth person to seat on the throne. King Jaja was the first.

No, he isn't the grandson. He is farther down the line than that. But this your question though, considering the comment you quoted to ask it, what do you think direct descendant means? undecided

Anyway, all women were topless and braless before they learnt how to cultivate cotton and weave cloth. Just wanted to correct that impression.

I have pictures of nude Nigerians from all parts of the country. I am currently using a semi smart phone so i can't post pictures. No human society was born with clothes,so it's wrong to say that your women wore clothes snice time immemorial without pictures to back it up. My threads speak about my interest online,it may have little or nothing to do with my person outside this forum. There is a difference between an E personality and a real interest/person. You can't sit here and conjure an idea of who i am.
By the way, Europeans and whites were all topless at a point,if that will make you feel better.
Wearing and weaving clothes snice pre historic times have been associated with Malians/Songhai empire,Hausa and the South east. The evidences are all over the net. It's obviously yoruba learnt from them over time.
Walking around unclad is not a taboo amongst Igbos,Hausa,Fulani,Efik,Yoruba of yesteryears. Don't use your 21st century puritanic indoctrinated ideas to judge people of that era.

. The fact still remains that its against the norm for people to go coverless where I come from as at the time the pix on this thread was taken, and your online threads can't be totally different from who you are on the street, most of my threads are on entertainment cos I like entertainment. Ps: if you want to quote me to disagree on this no need, I agree with already. You e-personality is different from ur real personality #yimu.

Mtcheww! Quit judging people from their threads....it's misleading. Uncladness is not new to Africa and it's never against any norm, apart from Western and Islamic norm,of course.

*Derogatory words. Shame? Yoruba no cover before they learnt how to weave. Egyptians no cover before. Indians no cover before. Arabia no cover, Europe no cover! Native Americans, some Asians and Australians no cover. Many people no cover before! Covering up is not an achievement esp under the African weather. Am sure the entire world should be ashamed! In some societies, outside Africa, married women were expected to go without tops, lol.
Open your eyes and stop living under a Western perception of civilization.
Covering up the bosom is just a social convention mostly associated with expansion and diffusion of islam and Christain puritanic values in Africa.
Same thing with wearing a veil, suit and bra, these are all Western perception of civilization. It has nothing to do with Igbos or Yoruba.
