As we celebrate democracy/handover day, 7 individuals have been affirmed dead after twin bombs shook a wedding service at Tashan Alde in Hawul Local administration of Borno state today May 29th. Numerous others were harmed.

Two bomb explosions have killed at least seven people and injured many others during a wedding ceremony at Tashan Alade in hawul Local Government of Area of Borno State. The explosions occurred on Friday morning, as final preparation for the Inaugural addresses across Nigeria take place. ‎

According to sources at the scene, the incident occurred at about 6 am this morning. Ibrahim Birtus, a local vigilante in the area, said that the twins blasts killed at least 7 people and injured many others. A suspect has been arrested in connection with the incident.

“This morning at about 06:05am at wedding ceremony in our village where people gathered, the first blast occurred and some minutes later as people were trying to rescue the victims, another [blast] occurred some distance from the first one'' Ibrahim Birtus explained.

He added that ''At least 7 people were dead as dozens were critically injured, I don't know if the groom is alive or not. There confusion now.‎''

Tashan Alade is a remote village located in southern part of Borno State‎, about 270 kilometers from Borno State’s capital, Maiduguri. Security authorities in the State could not be reached for comment over the incident yet.‎
