Then

OR
y-150= 3y/8
y-150= 3y/8
8y - 1200 = 3y
8y -3y = 1200

You got 400 as your answer, right? Oya draw 150litres out of 400litres. U will arrive at 250. Will 3/8 of 400 give you 250?

Now check the question one more time and check my workings again.

I got 240litres. Subtract 150 from 240. That will give us 90. What is 3/8 of 240?
