I just hope i get my choice. I really dont want anything else. Its just what i've always wanted to study. I think with the current state of the country we should ve given what we think we'll happy studying, cuz that's where our heart'll be in. I just cant see myself doing my third and fourth choices.
I can remember 2010 In cu, my sister wanted to study electrical engineering, and she had 229, and 62/80 in CUSAS yet she wasnt given the course, instead they gave her industrial physics and geophysics, then you cant even change course in cu, she applied again the following year, that is when they gave her course... hardly will you see low jamb scores entering any engineering programmes in cu except if d course isnt competitive....because they have limited spaces, they choose d best candidate for the course, nd those that didnt meet up they change their course to the one that could accomodate their score, and if the courses they ended up choosing didnot accomodate them, candidate in that case will not be admitted, that why CU told all applicants to choose two other programs in case they wernot admitted for their first and second choice - I think they have their reasons for doing it like that sha!!

The funny thing about CUSAT is that the registrar said that as at 27th May 2015, 3500 applicants have written CUSAT in the school. Remember that CUSAT started on the 25th and has only lasted for 3 days (25th, 26th and 27th). Going by that calculation that means by 28th, 30th, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th. The total number of people that have written CUSAT will be roughly about 8000. Remember that some of these people did not choose CU in Jamb. I just hope CU will consider us that chose them in JAMB first before looking at other people. 24/60 is really low. I hope they will not say 25 is the cutoff mark sha.

Hey Feran, is Civil Eng competitive ?!
From your previous posts, I understand you're applying to Civil, Chem, Building tech nd Mech. Whilst I can say your chances are very high - IMO 75%, just know that those are the most upbeat courses in CU. For my graduating set (Elite Set 2014) Chem produced the best grad student in engineering {a 20 year old female with 4.85 CGPA} ; Mech produced Africa's first "highly commended candidate for the Engineering category of the "2014 Undergraduate Awards Ireland" {btw only two African students were nominated & shortlisted to attend the 2014 UA Global Summit in Dublin, Ireland, amongst the top 10% of the 4792 submissions globally) ; a Civil Guy was the only one to be selected by McKinsey (the world's most prestigious, elitist strategy consulting firm with the toughest recruitment in the world, even a tougher recruitment than Google). The guy was selected last year from an initial pool of 100+ (4.0+ Cgpa only) candidates, after passing the notorious PST (google "mckinsey's problem solving test"wink and scaling those 5 daunting interviews. ; Then there is the first-class girl from Pet. Eng who's currently at Imperial College London, after representing Cu at an international conference in Qatar and coming first during a competition at the Conference. So get ready for some fierce competition in any course you get into. "Engine" peeps are hot oh!. All the same Success with your application!!! *grins again*. {typed from my nokia c1, oops! fingers hurt)

Hey so like do you know the cutoff for eng. Like what do you have to get to be considered, cuz my Waec is good, and my Cusas, i got a 234 in jamb.

Hey, I won't worry if I were you. Feran14 has said it all. There are no absolute cut-offs, It depends on the average scores of other persons applying to the courses you've chosen and the amount of space available. Frankly your score should get your foot in the door of any of your courses. wink

Don't worry you have a high possibility of entering. I saw the course stats of covenant university, microbiology had less than 50 ppl. It had 44 people to be precise. Since it is one of the least competitive courses in cu, you should relax. You should only panic if you were an engineering student. Their candidates are 200-300! shocked
