Demanding for a referendum in order to determine whether to remain as part of a country or whether to secede is not a crime. What is a crime is when people take up arms to fight a democratic institutions. This may lead to a full blown war and War is not a child's play.

I quite agree with you, but the fundamental problem is -- our constitution does not recognise referendum and the constitution of the land is supreme, where all actions derives their legality or illegality.

That is what we first need to insert into our constitution.

That was what killed the National Conference.

Once the constitution recognises referendum, the rest is as easy as ABC. All what one party needs is to evoke that part of the constitution. That was what made the Scottish referendum possible.

If you do not want war and bloodshed, then there is a need to find a solution to the constitutional quagmire we are in.
