A group of Niger Delta Youth under the aegis of Niger Delta People’s Progressive Agenda in a press statement made available to 234 Jam Blog says no boat or vessel shall be allowed to run their rivers to load oil and all their bush shall be guided to stop oil companies from trespassing their land.

Right now, we Niger Delta are risen, we won’t allow our oil to be used by Nigerian government anymore, everybody should control their resources, “The few farm land we have to farm i.e plantain have been polluted by oil spillage making the soil not yielding her strength, oil spillage has also driven fishes out of our waters to the sea, our area is more impoverish in all Nigerian, cost of living is very high in our area, in our area when you build a block house you have to re-new the house every five (5) years, cost of sand filling is even high than the building and in other area you build house for life. Because we are minority our children are not employed in the very oil companies operating in our land because we are minority, we are being oppressed in every area and place, oil wells and blocks are owned by outsiders, so right now our oil wells and block we won’t allow any outsiders to own anymore, we are taking back our God given resources, we have trained people on how to drill the oil without oil company and we can also refine our oil locally, any community where oil is found is by the agreement of the community, if the community refuse the oil will not be found. These are not people that kidnap the white for money, but selected and trained Niger Deltans to fight for the cause of the land. When Late President Musa Yar’Adua gave us amnesty we said we should hold our peace and see what he will do but when President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan entered he did not do to us what the Late President Yar’Adua had started. The boys that were trained were not empowered. There is nothing the president did for the south-south, all his projects were focused on the North everybody knows i.e Almajiri Schools, Agriculture Dams, Roads etc. he did all this to gain the favour of the North, to him because we are minority there is nothing we can do and so we were watching him. Even the president –elect when he was head of PTF nothing was done in the south all projects were for the North. Therefore we are ready, no boat or vessel shall be allowed to run our rivers to load oil and all our bush shall be guided no white or oil company shall trespass therein we shall cut all oil pipes through which oil is been taking out of our land. Our oil wells and blocks we will not allow outsider to own anymore. Oil has been said discovered in the North too, but now they want to finish ours before starting the Northern oil production this is unacceptable to us so henceforth let everyone mind or maintain here resources if you want Nigeria to remain in peace. Now that the nation is using our oil and we are been neglected what if the North starts their oil production they will treat us as if we are slaves, we won’t allow that to happen because Iron, Cement, Gold etc. are all in the North, so everyone should leave us alone.
