Collintos, thanks a lot. I asked for reasoned opinions and you took time out to give me just that. It is really appreciated.

Wish you the very best in your AC.

For those who are setting the ball rolling today, all the best.

I guess congratulations can start rolling in.

Regards
Collintos:

Though your question isn't so specific as per what is a priority for you. My view is that your choice depends on what you think is a priority for you.

To be realistic LNG has a Flat structure thus career progression may not be as fast as compared to other IOCs. This is because of its span of coverage (i.e Nigeria) and the company's shareholding/Ownership structure. Though Nigerianization and restructurings has helped a bit to open-up some top managerial positions for direct LNG staff, career progression across board may not be still comparable with other IOCs. Perhaps IOCs have operations all over the world making it easy for faster growth and transfers, thus creating multifaceted career paths for staffs. However opportunities for secondment to other LNG companies of other countries may be available in LNG.

As for pay, the two companies are in similar industry though LNG majors on gas. Pay package for both is competitive and within reasonable range of each other depending what your definition of reasonable range is grin. But must say, Its worth it men, you wont like to miss it grin

Concerning conduciveness of work environment and work challenge, as you know LNG is a continuous operation process plant runned with a state of the art technology. Thus there are many news things to learn, and challenges that keeps you on your toes monitoring the plant to optimize production and add value. However, I am of the view that other IOCs operating in varying environments and climates with new challenges in different oil and gas fields may be more challenging. So you can tell what is expected as compared to being in the LNG environment. LNG looks better from my view in terms of a conducive and caring work atmosphere. This can be challenged with an alternative opinion.

Conclusively, I will say clearly define your passion and let your choice be in tandem with your passion at the long run as that is what drives fulfillment and satisfaction. Moreso its about excellent delivery in your assigned job/duties. Career decision should be above money, comfort, challenge, relaxation etc, Its all about where can you make utmost and outstanding contribution. This factor should overrule all others highlighted above.

This is the little I should say, other peoples opinions are welcomed.

In the same vein, Wish everyone all the best and success as the #Cooperation of the Titans not really Clash of the Titans# begins wink

But, you guys had all the time in the world before the commencement of the AC to exchange ideas, opinions and what have you. Such luxury should be withdrawn from now till the end of the AC. But hey, there may be some extrememly magnanimous people who could give you such 'hints' what do I know?

Dear Potential NLNG GTs,

I am one of you and I am done with my AC and I wish to strongly advice those of us that are done and will be done and getting so excited to share info about the AC here. Kindly keep the info to yourself because this is public domain and you do not know who is reading your notes here. I am very sure that NLNG keeps the integrity of its recruitment and any persons who try to breach the integrity may lead to cancellation of the exercise. I take God beg us not to run our mouth even though we do not know our fate yet but I am sure that we are good to have made it to this stage. I wish us all success in this recruitment. Thanks

Yes!, I support Integrity. Those coming out from the AC should keep their info to themselves. Let the best man or woman win.

Whether u want to talk or not. The AC is going to last for over 2 months and the news will surely come out. Mscheeeeeeeeeeew. People will tell their friends even those shouting INTEGRITY will ask others.

But guy, why not just calm down and respect the fact that this is a public place and NLNG might be watching? If you must ask anyone for tips or reveal to anyone, you can do that privately; definitely not on this page.

Relax Peeps. I get the part of TeamFairPlay and i'm actually indifferent about any sort of info divulging.

But truth be told, forget all those "NLNG might be here" bla bla bla. There are so many recruitment threads were pepole give out info, nothing happens. Even the last NLNG 2007 recruitment is guilty as charged.

I Guess the tesion is nerve cracking, hence all this unnecessary drama.

If you weren't in the first set, I hope you would have said this. As some1 rightly said forget this your NLNG might be here gist, you are just protecting yourself so others won't have undue advantage which is fair enough.
As for me all I would like to know is
1. Which activities took place e.g group exercise, role play etc
2. Were candidates of the same discipline invited together
3. When do we expect the outcome of this exercise (ebola-willing).
4. How good is the food? That's all

How some peeps think.....
How good is the food? So u want to know how good it is so u can come prepared with your own food and then having the chance to surpass us that ate the bad food.... No No No.... U will have to taste it yourself on that day.

On another note
So if i want them to cancel this very very very long recruitment exercise, all i need do is take the following steps.
1. Go to the assessment center.
2. Try hard to pass but if i get the impression that my performance was not up to par.
3. Come to this thread and spew everything that happened on that day + names of those assessing.
4. Take a chilled coke and wait for the cancellation mail.

U guys never seize to surprise me.
