President Muhammadu Buhari has said that though he would have preferred that the process of electing the leaders as initiated and concluded by the All Progressives Congress (APC) had been followed, he was ready to work with the leadership of the National Assembly that emerged on Tuesday. In his reaction to the election of Bukola Saraki and Yakubu Dogara as the President of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives respectively, President Buhari said that “a constitutional process has somewhat occurred”. House of rep Leader-north.
so we have VP -south doesnt matter if he is yoruba
deputy senate president- south
deputy lead of house of rep-south

I knew this will happen as i have said many times that our constitution doesnot recognize the geopolitical zones but what it recognizes is Northern and Southern Nigeria.....It doesnt matter if we have different tribes in the south ....for a government to be seen to represent nigerians it should be seen on paper to follow this equation.....Now we have the yorubas loosing again like Awo lost..
Tinubu is the biggest loser here.....He has been taught politics 101 which is far different from the one in his domain ... Yorubas should learn....Buhari called them for a meeting and at the same time sent a letter to the house for them to be officially opened while the fighting APC fools were waiting for him in the ICC which he never showed up for.....Buhari may not be too dull after all..

atiku seems to be a master when it comes to senators or house oof reps issue . He is the strong pillar of support behind saraki and he was able to use his clout to pull pdp members to saraki side. Atiku and the northern power blocs wants to take over apc and they seem to have accomplished that by 50%

That is the reason Gbajabiamila lost the Speakers Position.

It reminds me how Gemade and Awoniyi (Kogi State) were fighting for the PDP Chairmanship then when it was Zoned to the North Central.
OBJ told Awoniyi that despite the fact that you associate with the North by structure you are a Yoruba Man.

I am Really Happy that Saraki Won, because the yoruba speaking people from Kwara and Kogi states suffer this kind of politics. Should the North East Have won the Senate President's position then Gbaja would have been the Speaker. Its pure politics of "Tribalism, Zones and Religion". A fair deal for all.

Wait o, lets critically examine NASS events of today, is it a victory for the APC,PDP,the North,democracy or Nigerians?

The way I see it, the biggest victory goes to the north. They stay united when there is a 'right' to be appropriated. Just forget the hullabaloo these contests have generated, these fellas own Nigeria and they would show it countless more times!. We could say it is a victory for democracy since it threw up officials that emerged by a constitutional majority, as opposed to the preference for anointment by the APC. We cannot exactly say if it is a victory for the APC or the PDP since the main reason APC anointed some aspirants was to prevent the PDP from benefitting from their division, which was achieved (even if PDP had its way with determining the ultimate winners). It would be premature to assess if Nigerians won in the power play that took place today because these guys are yet to serve us.. In all of this, my admiration and commendation goes to PMB for respecting the independence of the legislature and refraining from interfering with the process that threw up these new crop of leaders.

Saraki is Fulani. His late father, Senator Olusola Saraki, said it before he died that he was Fulani, though with Yoruba name.
