It was the power move that twisted PDP out of Chime hand that helped Nnaji. He was on the way out only for Ekweremmadu to hijack the primaries and then kick Ifeoma Nwobodo into the gutters. Gil Nnaji bu iti mpataka that does not know his left from his right.
Interesting...... an iti that has been in elective position since 1997. He obviously knows how to win but may not be a good leader. Just pray he doesn't find his way into the government house as I feel that is probably his end game.

Of course they are world apart, because the best credit I can give Obi is on stabilising Anambra state politics, and not allowing it slip into the hands of Business Moguls with zero knowledge of leadership as a Governor. Handing over to Obiano attest to this fact, Obiano is doing far better than Obi even in his few days as Governor. He is targeting factors that will drive investment to Anambra, check how he's changing security situation of Anambra.

Obi would have gained more for Anambra if GEJ had won, but now everyone has to sit up, opposition isn't a baby task, I have a strong feeling that Obiano will fair well in opposition but I have some concerns about Ifeanyi, I think he will follow Chime's path of depending on gains of his personal and team's effort rather than what he can gain from Federal government.

In this era, government hardly engage in business, they rather provide enabling environment and allow private sector take over. That's why according to you Obi built most roads leading to farming communities not that he built farms. If you tell me Chime did poorly in Education I did agree, but not Agriculture, because he attracted companies that built farms while he built roads to those farms and also farming communities in Enugu. As we speak, a storage facility is under construction in Enugu, handled by federal Government.

When we talk about this agriculture thing you should also think like you're the one on Governor's seat, we should consider the Market for the farm produce. To invest heavily in Agriculture you also need to expand the market which Chime tried to do that by exporting. Our local market is saturated by Produce from North and foreign importation. A friend of mine goes to Benue to buy Garri in trucks and sell in Aba. We, easterners, lost touch of Agriculture at some point, but North maintained it and they have the market and they also enjoy heavy support from Federal Government. Enugu state doesn't have the power to block Business men and women who travel to North to bring these produce to south, neither does it have power to stop foreign importation. There was a time Chime cried out concerning plots to frustrate his effort to export produce, we would have fared better as a separate country, if the Terminal was ready I am sure his efforts would have made more returns.

I know you're not in the country and you read mostly what you get on Web, we on ground knows better. That Chime wasn't a media person doesn't mean we lost track of his administration. We are not concerned only about beauty of Enugu, We know What Chime got right, we know where he was moderate, we know where he got it badly. We also know the good efforts of Chime in Agricultural sector, that cannot be said about Obi. Give credits to Obi in other sectors but not Agriculture.

Lol...Another dumb comment; How does going to the farm translate to investing more in Agriculture than another person?? Secondly, you said you "never seen Obi visiting farms" which doesn't mean that it didn't happen. I have engaged your your people here on the importance of investing in agriculture and none of them can come up with a legitimate arguement why Chime has abandoned the sector. All they do is give excuses and tell us ENUGU state capital is beautiful.

no bi person wey sabi road to farm dey invest for farm? I was jst saying the dude dont even know the road to a farm at all cheesy

This doesn't have to be about defending one's state governor. Chime tried generally as a state governor but he failed when it comes to agriculture. Though he tried investing initially through the songhai integrated farm system. The project was hijacked by politicians who saw it as an opportunity to send their relatives to "benin republic" leaving the real farmers behind. There was also no continuity, the songhai farmers have gone and the program is dead.
The government did not also encourage the farmers with good roads as you stated cos uzouwani LGA which I can say is the food basket of Enugu has the worst access roads in the state. Even the roads to the Adarice settlement and songhai farm are in a bad state. Compared to Ayamelum LGA the Agricultural equivalent of Uzouwani in Anambra now has good access roads to an extent.
The farmers still practice crude means of storage while the perishable products either spoil or a sold for peanuts cos There are no storage facilities and electricity.
There was also no community participation as you won't yield results when you hand over the management of these farms as political appointments to people who reside in Enugu an know nothing about farm management or even farming.
I have read he invested in acquiring tractors but the first hand information from farmers show they go as far as northern states to hire tractors.
Some individuals claim the college of agriculture at iwollo is in a sorry state (i haven't been there).
I will give him credit for the San Carlos pineapple farm though hoping the news about export is not the usual political propaganda because the average Enugu man hasn't felt the impact of the money invested.
The benefits that come from investing in agriculture will be clear for all to see (adiro enyo ya enyo).
I feels as a whole agriculture was down there in his scale of preference.

Those are facts. In a way, i like that Yorubas are reminding our people about the idiocy of the term "One Nigeria" and the need for them to invest at home to create our own "Lagos"

Point is that Yorubas didn't create Lagos as they would want anyone to believe. just like Abuja is being created today out of other peoples resources under the lie that is "OUR FEDERAL CAPITAL". Many hamlets in Nigeria including Ahaoda and Ndoni are miserably poor today because their oil was used to develop "Our" federal capitals at Lagos and Abuja.

Having said that, it is time for Igbos to begin relocating their investment. Even though the yoruba noise now is simply related to the fact that they have gained nothing in spite of their treacherous nature of betraying other southerners. Yorubas should also be chased out of Enugu, Onitsha, Aba and Port Harcourt.
They too MUST go home!

You are too sentimental to reason properly; If you have taken your time to do a little research on Obi's agricultural reform we won't be here going back and forth and I won't even go into that. Obi is a governor every currently serving governor should take a cue from..From agriculture, health, roads, security and education no governor and I mean no governor comes close. You are obviously ignorant of his exploits in the agric sector hence your assumption but I don't wanna spoil your party. Obi paid money owed to Anambra pensioners back from 1991 up to date,he didn't borrow a kobo to run the state,he owed no state worker and even saved two months salary after he left,he paid up for completion of all projects before he left and 75 billion in investment and foreign currency for the rainy days just like we are having now . Wonder why Anambra is not having a cash crunch unlike Enugu. By the way, records show Anambra profited over 35billion from Obi savings in the past one year and this has gone along way to allay fears in the state. One thing he did was that he refused to used our funds to develop and beautify Awka while the rest of the state suffers. Anybody who compares Obi to Chime should be beheaded!! Nonsense, keep celebrating clueless and visionless and you will remain in the same spot. I am sorry if I sounded harsh but I flip when people can't think outside the box...Let's set our priorities and stop celebrating average performances....I believe the dream of an average onye Enugu is not to behold a beautiful coal city while everybody suffers.

It is not because Igbos are too hated anywhere. The so called "ONE NIGERIA" fake mantra of reasoning is our problem and we have just refused to learn from the events of 1966-1970. I don't mind if Igbos go to Ethiopia or Egypt to set up business, just not in northern or western Nigeria.
Afterall, you can learn from Dangote that has been setting up investments in Ethiopia,Senegal,Zambia, South Africa and Tanzania but just not in SE, Nigeria. We just have that unfortunate attitude that anywhere is better than home! Someone spoke about the attitude of Onitsha and Aba traders that would fly to Lagos to use Ethiopian or Turkish airline to Dubai & China, instead of simply using the same facility in Enugu! They complain Turkish or Emirates airline isn't in Enugu. So, if you stop patronizing them in Lagos, they will understand that to get your money, they should ply the Enugu route! Must you always bend to the whims and caprices of others?
In the same mindset, even if the Onitsha or Ibaka seaports are built today, our people will still refuse to use them and prefer the ones elsewhere, citing one silly excuse over another. Our people just need to learn how to reason wisely and not merely how to work hard perpetually. Because if you only know how to work hard hard without how to reason to say your wealth for your future generations, then you and your family shall perpetually remain in the hustling stage. As whatever you make and put in hostile territories will always be usurped or destroyed and you will go back to square one.

Chill Bro, you Anti-migration people (abi na wetin we go call am,) make me laugh sometimes. Where do you think the money for building many estates and industries in Igboland comes from?

Chill, stop discouraging migration, it is in our nature. It's part of what makes us Igbo unique.

Such migration have lots of advantage and little disadvantage. My only worry with igbo migrants is their lukewarm attitude towards Investing home.

Europe and Britain wouldnt have been what they are today if they hadnt migrated. They ventured into other societies,do business with them and got the proceeds back to europe to develop their Railways,Seaports,Industries, farms etc. The interest of europeans who chose to stay in foreign lands are protected by european governments. .. the cycle continues ... they help develop, influence their host countries and get the proceeds of the exploits back to Europe not to mention that they are also well protected by their embassies to live out their full potential. Imagine how nice it would be for future generations to read how their forefather influence foreign lands.

Talking of greed, greed is good for business,my friend! Westerners are very greedy people. multinationals love to invest in such lands full of greedy people in other to sell more Cars, ipads, iphones, clothes,Jets, houses, etc. Its good for the businesses and the countries in terms of employment and monies in circulation. No smart President would discourage its Citizens from being greedy considering what the economy gains from it.

Where did China migrate to become the biggest economy in the world? Where are Igbos living in Kano and Maiduguri prior to 2011? When they were given ultimatum by boko haram to leave north, they thought it will never happen. Majority lost those investments they thought they won't do without. It is high time we stopped the labour of the foolish. We have what it takes resources-wise to become the largest economy in Africa. It's only a matter of proper planning, being tolerant and accommodating to ourselves. I understand envy, pride, wickedness and greed are part of the reasons our people avoid home. We need to go home and develop our land.https://www.facebook.com/WillieObiano/photos/a.1380608652159857.1073741833.1377212462499476/1502249053329149/?type=1

Bro i repeat, migration is Good. Its part human nature to migrate. The most ssucessful Race/tribes in the world are usually the migrating ones. Many Chinese migrate within China, China is almost as big as a continent.
Fulanis do migrate alot, Never heard Northerners discouraging them from migrating. Do you know that most Northern states were once ruled by Hausas until fulani "bushmen" came from nowhere ,slaughtered and dethroned all of them.

The question is really not anti-migration, but the wisdom to safeguard one's wealth. I have seen two silly brothers that sold their land and properties in the SE to set up a business in the north. God blessed them and they prospered in their business and became very rich, but they instead bought more land and built huge buildings in the north and did not have a hut in the SE. In the year 2000, all their houses and business was burnt to the ground just after they emptied their bank account to restock their shops. Today, one of the brothers is roaming the streets of Aba as Keke napep driver and the other is an ITC bus driver from Onitsha- Owerri. Nobody except some of us that used to know them in the north would believe they were once millionaires in this life.

We need to start protecting our people everywhere they are and learn to respect their choices. Igbos living oustside igboland need to be taught patriotism instead,..they must learn to invest in igboland . We must be our brothers keeper. What does it take to create an excellent toll free line Igbos in distress can call in with?

Apt .
Even the rice bed of Enugu state, ugbawka doesn't have good roads .
I insist Enugu government is yet to support agriculture

Our experience as Igbos is different from that of the Chinese.

...And when the Jews got tired of running from pillar to post in the name of migration, we all know what they did. They told themselves the hard truth that home is the best and they've got no option than to go home and develop it. I am not ruling out migration in it's entirety because even Americans live abroad. What I am saying is that the rate at which we migrate is disproportionate, that we even migrate to places worse than our our home. Just take a statistics of places our people migrate to and you will realize majority of places are no way better economically than where we came from. The problem is that over the years, it has been ingrained into our psyche that living abroad is better. I live in the UK but i am not in anyway economically better than my peers at home, and they do not even suffer as much as I do to make the little money I make here. I can't wait to go home and God is my witness.

[s]Look,I am not here to dicc-measure with you guys. I am sorry if I sounded harsh but I flip when people can't think outside the box...Let's set our priorities and stop celebrating average performances....I believe the dream of an average onye Enugu is not to behold a beautiful coal city while everybody suffers[/s].
same redundant thrash everyday from obi's internet assistant. Anyway, I hope no one here is taking this guy seriously. If not, you are clearly wasting your time. Everyone knows obi cannot boast of measuring up to 20% of Chime's achievement so this is a dead issue.

Do you know how many Jews still live outside the state of Israel. Jews are scattered and making waves in places that are not their ancestral land very much like Igbos. So, that's a bad example. Yes, Igbos sometimes and a lot of times migrate to places that are worse of than where they are coming from. But you have to understand that the reason for their migration is not for liveability purpose but to offer a service is really not available or midly available in their place of sojourn. For instance, it will make economical sense for a spare part dealer to leave Nnewi which is arguably the automobile capital of Nigeria to go to Ogbomoso to open a spare parts shop as he will not have as much competition like he will if he remained in Nnewi. Every spare parts dealer cannot stay in Nnewi just as every taxi driver cannot remain in Yorubaland likewise every suya seller in the north. It is simple economics. The truth is that if Igbo's has remained in the east after the civil war, we wouldn't have been where we are today. What we simply did was to export our skill and expertise to every part of the country and we have benefitted immensely from it.

Having said that, we have to look for ways to develop the east but its not as easy as some of you are making it sound. I also used to wonder why a lot of Igbos are not investing back home but I've come to realize that they are simply business men and business men only go to places where they can make money and truth be told, the east is not yet as economically viable as it should be. Thats why its the job of the government in the east to take a cue from what has been done in Cross River and Akwa Ibom and make the east attractive to investors. Let them do that and you have will see a surge in investment from Igbo's in different parts of the world. So far, governors in the east are doing a shoddy job.

N5b Corruption Trial: Enugu govt tampered with seized properties of companies associated with Nnamani - EFCC WorldStage Newsonline-- The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), today complained to a Federal High Court sitting in Lagos that the Enugu State Government had tampered with the assets of companies associated with the former governor of the state, Chimaroke Nnmana. The four companies which had on May 19, 2015 pleaded guilty to a 10-count amended charge brought against them by the EFCC are Rainbownet Nigeria Limited, Cosmos FM, Capital City Automobile Nigeria Limited and Renaissance University Teaching Hospital. The companies are alleged to have failed to comply with lawful inquiry made by the Commission. Their assets are central to the review of facts of the four companies linked to the ex-governor which was fixed for today, June 11, 2015 by Justice Mohammed Yinusa. But the trial judge had to adjourn the review to July 7 after counsel to the EFCC, Kelvin Uzozie told the court that he was still working to get a schedule of all the assets and properties of the companies. He told the court that in the course of preparing the schedule it was discovered that some of the assets and properties have been taken over or tampered with by the immediate past government of Enugu State. “We discovered that most of the properties have been allocated to their friends, family members or political office holders. We are interested in getting all the assets as there was an interim forfeiture order by the court on the assets and properties. We believe it is not right for anybody no matter how highly placed the person may be to tamper with properties that are before the court. We want the properties to be harmonised,” he said. According to the EFCC counsel, 21 properties in Gulf Estate on which there was an interim forfeiture order, were discovered to be sold. Also, Ebeano Tunnel which had 22 Duplexes when an interim forfeiture order was made has been taken over by the state government and renamed Fidelity Estate and sold to various individuals. In addition, Block of 15 Residential Houses at Ebeano Housing has been taken over by the state government and sold to Hospitality Company which has now built an event centre on the land. Chimaroke Nnamani was first arraigned before Justice Tijani Abubakar in 2007. The ex-governor was docked alongside Sunday Anyaogu, his then aide and six firms linked to them: Rainbownet Nigeria Limited, Hillgate Nigeria Limited, Cosmos FM, Capital City Automobile Nigeria Limited, Renaissance University Teaching Hospital and Mea Mater Elizabeth High School. The case was re-assigned to Justice Charles Archibong following the transfer of Justice Abubakar, now of the Appeal Court, out of the Lagos division of the Federal High Court. Again, the case was re- assigned to Justice Yinusa, after Justice Archibong (now retired) was also transferred out of the Lagos division of the court. According to the charge, Nnamani conspired with other accused persons to launder funds from the state treasury, especially monies meant for the local government areas of Enugu state.
