Buhari better wake up to the reality of Nigeria's politics. All the recent attacks on the person of Tinubu is just to get his major political ally out of the way. Once they achieve that, they will come after Buhari himself. The presidency remains the main target of the Saraki/Atiku alliance and they are ready to destroy APC to achieve their aim.

There is an aspect to this drama people aren't considering. Here it is:

PDP announces that its presidential slot would be given to the north in 2019

Atiku meets with PDP members few days later.

It is reported days after that EFCC has been directed to dust the Halliburton file, which Atiku is involved.

Atiku feels spited and insulted.

He sees that the only way to escape is to defect to the opposition.

He knows that defecting to a weak opposition will not help him, so he tries to make the opposition control the Senate.

He chooses to support a candidate who, just like him, has a case to answer with the EFCC.

His candidate wins and his party moves to sanction him.

Atiku sees this as a good reason for his defection to PDP.

Today, he meets with PDP stalwarts preparatory to defection.

Summary: As we can see, Atiku is the major beneficiary of this whole Drama. Apart from the fact that he has positioned himself for the PDP presidential ticket, he has also shielded himself from prosecution, in the same way Saraki protected himself by defecting to APC.
