LocalChamp: It is unfair to cut their salaries, it should be increased. paid millions in borrowed funds to procure human parts for juju. Many are still owing. Moreover they came in to make the country richer. How can a poor group of Reps make our dear Nigeria rich? They should take over the nations Central Bank and our foreign reserves as a token of our respect for them. Hope they accept it the way God accepted Abel's sacrifice! I remember a certain college literature which we used in those good old days - A tale of two cities. 1 Like |

The issue with NASS members earnings is not salaries per se but the allowances. He is talking about security vite for local govt chairmen and governors forgetting the constituency development money that is given to them and never used. Joe was local govt chairman of Esan West, how many times did he reject the security vote? Its still on record that he is the most corrupt chairman the local govt has had. Let them campaign against salary and allowances cut but Nigerians will rise against them by voting them out. The cist of running govt must be reduced and everyone and sector will be touched Mr Hon. |

Re: Rep Kicks Against Campaign To Cut Lawmakers’ Earnings by kingbus: 7:35am On Jun 16, 2015 |
The rep made some very important point ,what is a governor collecting 200million naira monthly as security votes for and local govt chairmen 2million naira monthly 2million naira monthly for 700 lgs equals 1.4billion naira monthly and most states don't even have lg chairmen because the govs refused to conduct their elections, but 200million naira monthly as security votes for each gov is a bloody waste of money. Let's see how buhari will stop ambode and northern apc govs from taking this security votes. Barcanista was right all along 1 Like |

Even if mechanics earn more than you guys, CUT down! Lead by example, the nation is running a tight budget, so don't just throw the burden on hapless citizens alone while you tell us your pay is small. Out of the small cut it. Ignorance my foot, how many lecturers earn upwards of N1m per month? You nitwit go to Abuja and reluctantly shout "aye" and "nay" then sing "#godwin" cos you don get alert. Why do you guys kill to be there (cos I very sure know non is there for patriotism) if you're to be pitied? Most of them spent more than the so-called lecturers 5 year salary to run ordinary campaign, who una dey deceive? CUT AM!!! 2 Likes |

Pls ask the man what his contribution to the development of Nigeria as a nation since he joined d house? Ask what kind of proposal has he put together that will help alleviate poverty? He is comparing them with oil workers, bank workers and calling lecturers "even lecturers" what an insult on the lecturers, what did he study? I believe there is a fundamental errors in d composition of the NASS and HoR. What do expect when medical doctor is leading the law maker? and those who do not have clues on what they were there for, that was why you could see many people could not make any meaningful contribution and they ones kicking against pay cut. The job should be part time job for legal practitioners who could understand sign to good policies and laws and pick against any motion that will not be of benefit to Nigeria people. Law maker must be people from law arena. Doctors should be in medical arena, Teachers should be in education arena. Let us start to put round peg in round holes. Majority if not all the law makers are quark. They have killed missions of people as a result of their inability to perform their duties because they are not qualified to be there. People of Nigeria the power is yours that is why are the one choosing with votes. Revolt anything that is not in favour or in the interest of Nigeria a nation. The dark age is gone it's now technology and information age. Let us use to revolutionise our land and then shall we reap the nourishing fruit of the bountiful endowed natural resources that God has given His people and not the few robbers in d corridor of power. God bless Nigeria God bless and empower of President God bless all change agents in action God bless all the masses of the FRN. And to those who denied us our basic necessities of life. You will reap exactly who you have sown. Repent and return all your loots so that it shall be well with you and your generation unborn. It's never too late to do this. Now is even the right time. A work is enough for a wise. Good day. |

Oga phiii d phiii law maker, your salary is not the problem. Only ignorant Nigerians misplace that for your allowance. YOUR ALLOWANCES are out of this world. Stop confusing people. You bunch of rogues get allowance for everything including performing your conjugal rights + your sideline extra curricula activities. All you guys do is oversight functions and nothing more yet you compare yourselves with average Nigerians that work their bones out to stay afloat the waters. Nonsense. |
Re: Rep Kicks Against Campaign To Cut Lawmakers’ Earnings by cochexky: 8:08am On Jun 16, 2015 |
Legislators should earn well so that they will not be corrupt during their oversight functions. Here I know you are selfish , so the legislators work for money not for the betterment of the country. Listen mr man , we are out for change and if you really love this country you must show concern , So I hereby TRASH YOUR prayer. And don't come here again to show your heartlessness . Go and sin no more. |

I always knew lawmakers don't collect much salary. Their main source f income is bribes they receive from the dangotes, Adenugas, Mtn, shell, chevron and etc |
