DeeTus: No, I took neither TOEFL nor IELTS. However, submitted my BSc. from a British University with second class upper honors to University of Bridgeport, I think the appraisement was concluded based on that. I really don't know. What do you advice. |

eatwell423: Thanks for the reply but "it does matter attitude"? Everything matters until one stops breathing, if it didn't matter ,I wont be on this thread digging up useful & reasonable advice. No,one said a visa is a right and I know it doesn't make you admissible on entry. Its also not a do or die affair for some people (me). A refusal only deters your course or plan but doesn't take it away. Anyways, I would agree to some extent you are correct, I chose it because it didn't require GRE doesn't mean I didn't apply to others that required a GRE score. I was awarded a $3000 scholarship ,well, I was grateful, I didn't expect it. I thought Uni of Bridgeport is a better school than most? I took neither TOEFL nor IELTS nor GRE. However, I submitted my BSc. from a British University with second class upper honors to merit that scholarship I think. Maybe I'll write the GRE then. |

Hello, house! For a JJC wey never cross shores of Naija before, what are the core and the trivial things one needs to come with when coming to US? Even though my great Ogas have told me some stuff, I still need it to be on record because this thread is a database. |

markenson:Bro, you might need to hit Google to get all the required info about the aforementioned courses. Landing a GA is a function of your performance in standardized tests like TOEFL and GRE. High scores brighten your chances of getting a GA position. |

amanze15: Amanze, I have read Americanah. The literary prowess of Adichie was highly displayed in the book. The book illuminated some truths about America not being what we Africans think it is. It also tells how racism is exhibited subtly by Americans(Whites) to African Americans and other tribes. How half-caste as a word is considered as a rude word. What I need is how our Naija brothers and sisters surmount all these challenges and thrive well over there in America for years. 2 Likes |

DARKLIGHT:persistence with a purpose thats the word, every single nigerian in the states has different path they took to greatness, buh most important u must be educated to a good level, I have a relative who studied mechanical engineering he worked for CATAPILLaR in nigeria before he moved to the states, he did his masters, he worked shifts at assembly plants for good four years before Catapillar sent him a cover letter to go to the headquarters in illionois where he presently works as supervising assistant manger with his own office, so brother just have a plan and put God in everything u do, am optimistic we would succeed 4 Likes |
