The Police headquarters in Abuja Thursday said it received a letter from the British High Commission stating that Mr (Senator) Buruji Kashamu was indeed arrested and tried in a United Kingdom criminal court. A statement signed by CP Emmanuel Ojukwu, Force Public Relations officer, said that the UK court was however not satisfied that Prince Kashamu had a case to answer. “However, for the avoidance of doubt, the British High Commission letter in question did not derogate from the extradition request by the US authority pending with relevant departments and agencies of government in Nigeria” it said.
