Scholar8200:Bros frm d verses u qouted Moses spoke to God and God replied Buh Jesus said God is speaking to him tru d HOLY SPIRIT( or i may say angel) So it mot dsame It s God speaking to two differt pple in two different ways God never spoke back to Jesus as He did to moses As for muhammed spoke is word to him tru d spirit (angel jubril) ''quran send down" dos not mean it was given to him as a book. It was read to him. So d peson may not b mohammed but it definately not Jesus |

adenine02:And the brethren referred to are the Israelites descended from Isaac; they were the audience of both Chapters 17 & 18 The Midianites are also descendants of Abraham so the reference to Arabs as brothers is not applicable in the chapters concerned. The only time they were so referred was when Israel was told not to attack them. 1 Like 1 Share |

adenine02:the Holy Spirit was never used as a substitute for an angel except if you can show this; adding your own subversive perception is to ask for God's wrath. Now we have one of the contemporaries of Jesus Christ who saw everything and would even correct Jesus Christ when He said," For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak.." One of such instances when the Father spoke was given in John 12. Besides, how many times did Moses, in full public glare, have this dialogue with God in Egypt or the wilderness? Most of these were done in private; like Jesus so also with Moses. I wonder how and when or where the Holy Spirit and angel Gabriel became the same?! Do you mean Mary's conception was also by the angel since the same angel Gabriel said to Mary, the Holy Ghost shall overshadow you? Or was it the angel Gabriel that was upon Moses part of which was taken and given to the 70 elders in Numbers 11:25?! 1 Like 1 Share |

Scholar8200:Bro u scare me with this God wrath thing I am not blasfeming Angel r not men and not jinn They r spirit And dy r holy So dis is wat mean wen i say angel If am wrong let me knw And wen u say Jesus spoke in private I am not disputting that Buh can show me any wer that God spoke directly bak to Jesus d way e did to moses I BELIVE God spoke to Jesus and mohammed via spirits (angel) As shown by d two religious books Wether God spoke directly or not to jesus dt still dont prove Det 18 18 is talking abt jesus I still stand on d fact dt Jesus is seen by all xtain as Son od God or God d son and not prophet like moses Jesus is same tribe wit moses And humanly jesus is not like moses So wu s d verse talking abt? Cos definately its not Jesus Pls note dt i am note in any way insulting ur religion So d 'wrath of God' thing, pls put it aside Thanks |

adenine02:I dont mean to scare you; just a paraphrasing of what the Bible says. There are myriads of angels but One Holy Spirit. Moses, like Jesus, dialogued with God in private. In public they spoke as God taught them . As to a public dialogue between Jesus and the Father , see John 12:28, Can you show me where God spoke to Moses in the full glare of the Egyptians before whom He promised to teach Moses what to say. Apart from when the law was to be given in which case all Israel heard, at what instance did Moses converse with God openly before the Israelites? I BELIVE God spoke to Jesus and mohammed via spirits (angel)but the Bible says of Jesus John 3:34 34 For since He Whom God has sent speaks the words of God [proclaims God’s own message], God does not give Him His Spirit sparingly or by measure, but boundless is the gift God makes of His Spirit! Not an angel. In no place was it said in the Bible that angels were given If it's in the Word of God, we will rather bear it in mind as a caution not a threat. Okay, Who was the Seed in Whom all the nations of the world will be blessed as promised to Abraham and Isaac? Who was the High Priest that David prophesied about? And Who was the King Isaiah prophesied about? Singling out Moses prophesy makes it contradictory to these other references. 1 Like 1 Share |

adenine02:among their brother (the twelve tribe of isreal) Moses was a levi, levi is among the twelve tribe of isreal, there is no way muhammed or any other prophet outside isreal can claimed this prophecy was about him. Beside the quran was "a sent down from heaven" but deutoronumy say , I will put my word in his mouth, the different is clear. bible adress Jesus as a prophet and God, Jesus is fully human and fully God because he has the attribute of God. And He was born of a virgin. |

malvisguy212: May God bless ur knowledge bro My points r not abt mohammed I stand on d fact dt definatly dis prophecy is not abt jesus for d following reasons 1. Jesus is not LIKE moses - moses has father and mother: jesus has only mother - moses died and did not resurect: jesus died and resurected according to d bible - moses have wife and kid: jesus not - moses is a prophet: jesus is a SON OF GOD or GOD THE SON or LORD or even refer to as GOD 2. D bible is reffering to someone not from moses nation; AMONG YOUR BROTHERS so who r d brothers of moses tribe B4 moses was abraham Abraham has two sons from 2 women from 2 nation, they r ISAAC and ISHMEAL Moses and jesus are descendant of ISAAC while mohammed (arab) is a descendant of ishmeal. So d arab and israeli are brothers from Abraham So d prophecy is not abt another tribe of israel it another nation close to israel 3. The word of God Quran was not send down to mohammed as a book. It is a revelation resited drectly to him word for word. As fr jesus d holy spirit inspire him with d words. Lastly dis prophecy might not be for prophet mohammed but i still stand on d fact dt it is definatly not jesus. Thanks. |

Deuteronomy 18:18 I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him. Acts 3:20-24 20 And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you: 21 Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began. 22 For Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you. 23 And it shall come to pass, that every soul, which will not hear that prophet, shall be destroyed from among the people. 24 Yea, and all the prophets from Samuel and those that follow after, as many as have spoken, have likewise foretold of these days It is Jesus. He is the mediator of the new convenant just like Moses mediated for the old, 2 Likes 2 Shares |

adenine02:if you want to judge their differences, then you are wrong, very wrong because we can do the same for muhammed, let me quote from verse 15 for you again: Deuteronomy , 18:15-19 “The LORD your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among you, from your brethren–him you shall heed-just as you desired of the LORD your God at Horeb on the day of the assembly, when you said, ‘Let me NOT hear again the voice of the LORD my God, or see this great fire any more, lest I DIE . ‘And the LORD said to me, ‘They have rightly said all that they have spoken. I will raise up for them a prophet like you from among their brethren; and I will put my words in his mouth, and he shall speak to them all that I command him. And whoever will not give heed to my words which he shall speak in my name, I myself will require it of him.” Jesus was clearly the mediator who Moses was talking about. He was the one man who could speak God’s words directly to the people. Why? Because he was God! He was God with a human nature who could speak God’s words to them. NO prophet stand a better chance than Jesus. Let me show you their similarities(Moses and Jesus) Moses : The first mediator Jesus : The final mediator Moses was born as a Hebrew Jesus was born as a Hebrew Moses was born while his people were suffering under a cruel leader. (Pharaoh) Jesus was born while his people were suffering under a cruel leader. (Herod) Moses hid in Egypt as a child. Jesus hid in Egypt as a child. The leader of the land that Moses was born into tried to kill all of the babies when he was born. The leader of the land that Jesus was born into tried to kill all of the babies when He was born. Moses turned water into blood. Jesus turned water into wine. Moses died on a hill. Jesus died on a hill. Moses fasted 40 days and faced a spiritual crisis on a mountain Jesus fasted 40 days and faced a spiritual crisis on a mountain. Moses told people about the need for a Passover lamb. Jesus became the Passover lamb Moses taught his followers how to pray. Jesus taught his followers how to pray. Moses chose people to carry on when he was leaving. Jesus chose people to carry on when he was leaving. Moses led his people to the promised land. Jesus leads his people to the promised land. Moses choose 12 leader Jesus choose 12 disciples Moses sent 12 spies to Canaan so he could bring people to the promised land. Jesus sent 12 disciples to the world so hecould bring people to the promised land. Moses appointed 70 rulers over Israel Jesus appointed 70 disciples to the nations. The people picked up stones to stone Moses but they did not succeed. The people picked up stones to stone Jesus, but they did not succeed. adenine02:this is the song of Moses and Jesus and the saint's sang the song in revelation. exedus 15:1 15 Then Moses and the people of Israel sang this song to the Lord, saying, “I will sing to the Lord, for he has triumphed gloriously; the horse and his rider he has thrown into the sea. Revelation 15:2–3 2 And I saw what appeared to be a sea of glass mingled with fire—and also those who had conquered the beast and its image and the number of its name, standing beside the sea of glass with harps of God in their hands. 3 And they sing the SONG OF MOSES , the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, “Great and amazing are your deeds, O Lord God the Almighty! Just and true are your ways, O King of the nations! |

adenine02:Moses gave only two distinguishing marks: the Prophet will be an Israelite, and He will speak the Words of God. There were many prophets who matched this description in Israel but none was a mediator of any Covenant as Moses was. Midian and a number of people were Abraham's children too; why single out Ishmael? Besides, God never raised up any body from any other nation as a prophet so it is an aberration to insist that the prophet must be from Ishmael's descendants. Jeremiah even reveals that judgement was to come on some Israelites who claimed," The Lord has raised up prophets in Babylon"Jeremiah 29:15 1 Like 1 Share |

So check this Act 3 22 For Moses truly SAID UNTO THE FATHER, A PROPHET shall the Lord your God raise up unto you OF YOUR BREDREN, LIKE UNTO ME; him shall ye HEAR in all things whatsoever he shall SAY unto you 1. A PROPHET 2. LIKE MOSES 3. OF THEIR BROTHER 4. HE WILL HEAR So bro it is not 2 distinguishing points Thanks |

adenine02:Acts 3:22 For Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you. Okay let's say three distinguishing points: 1. Prophet like unto Moses (heralding a new dispensation in God's covenant dealings in pursuance of His promise to Abraham) 2. One from one of their sons/tribes of Israel (just like Kings were to be from any of the 12 tribes each tribe having patriarch that was a brother to the others) 3. The Word of the Lord will be put in His mouth.(A good example being when Moses gave this prophecy in Deuteronomy 18:18 |

adenine02:Note that Moses was of the Israelites brethren! Exodus 2:11 11 And it came to pass in those days, when Moses was grown, that he went out unto his brethren, and looked on their burdens: and he spied an Egyptian smiting an Hebrew, one of his brethren. And the Prophet was to be of their brethren just as Moses was This matter is very straight. |

Prophet like unto Moses (heralding a new dispensation in God's covenant dealings in pursuance of HIS PROMISE TO AHBRAHAM Y is ishmael not part of d promise Dont u tink it odd dt d bible said little abt ishmael and his generation wu r d arabs, neighbour to d other 12 tribes. |

adenine02:Here is what God said: Genesis 21:12 12 And God said unto Abraham, Let it not be grievous in thy sight because of the lad, and because of thy bondwoman; in all that Sarah hath said unto thee, hearken unto her voice; for in Isaac shall thy seed be called Genesis 26:1-4 And there was a famine in the land, beside the first famine that was in the days of Abraham. And Isaac went unto Abimelech king of the Philistines unto Gerar. 2 And the Lord appeared unto him, and said, Go not down into Egypt; dwell in the land which I shall tell thee of: 3 sojourn in this land, and I will be with thee, and will bless thee; for unto thee, and unto thy seed, I will give all these countries, and I will perform the oath which I sware unto Abraham thy father; 4 and I will make thy seed to multiply as the stars of heaven, and will give unto thy seed all these countries; and in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; Was Ishmael the child God promised to Abraham? NO Besides, there were other kids too. Why singling out Ishmael/Arabs? Genesis 25:2-6 Then again Abraham took a wife, and her name was Keturah. 2 And she bare him Zimran, and Jokshan, and Medan, and Midian, and Ishbak, and Shuah. 3 And Jokshan begat Sheba, and Dedan. And the sons of Dedan were Asshurim, and Letushim, and Leummim. 4 And the sons of Midian; Ephah, and Epher, and Hanoch, and Abida, and Eldaah. All these were the children of Keturah. 5 And Abraham gave all that he had unto Isaac. 6 But unto the sons of the concubines, which Abraham had, Abraham gave gifts, and sent them away from Isaac his son, while he yet lived, eastward, unto the east country. .Isaac was the child of promise hence he inherited the blessings. |

What I don't understand is why these muslim ignore the New testament passages that talks about Deut 18:18 as being fulfilled in Christ but string it to Mohammed of Arabia. Acts 3:22 For Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophey shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me, him shall you hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you. And there r so many scriptures that points to Christ as the fulfilment of that scripture. Besides, how come its only Moses who prohecied about Moses if ever he did? because from Moses down to Malachi, they all had a central theme, The coming of the Mesiah. And these people just hold on so strongly to this lie. Ok let's suppose for a second that Mohammed is indeed that prophet, why then is Mohammed's hatred and bitterness towards Jews so deep? The Muslims hatred for the Christians is a spill over from the Jews. So God's prophecy is that he(God) will raise a prophet to the Jews that will annihilate the Jews from the face of the earth? Ah ah nau. Be reasonable. And why did Mohammed continue the worship of allah the god of his fathers? The very same way they worshipped allah, why did he retain all the modus operandi? Is he suggesting that Jehovah is allah? Why r the methods of worshipping jehovah from ancient is still practised today, but the worship of allah is different? Abeg, na demon una dey worship sooooo. 1 Like 1 Share |
