Studies should take into consideration, class, race and regional variances. Perhaps, white men, spend more time gossiping than white women; My personal observation are that British working class men and inner city black boys are feminized.

This is my own thinking. Perhaps single-mohter-hood, without the moderating influence of the extended family, has brought about the feminsation of men. Girls also played a part, their disdain in the past for boys that do male things such as fix motorbikes, build model airplanes, and fix things on Saturdays, instead of chase after them and engage them in discussions and romantic play, led to those male activities being demonized and labeled geeky. Single mothers have brought up boys with feminine characteristics such as viciousness, grudge baring, jealousy, gossiping in corners of the road instead of going boxing in the gym or something. In short, Famine sensibilities + male testosterone = mindless,ruthless people capable of killing without care, like a typical gang member does.

This is absolutely true!!!! Men are professional gossipers! Infact I salute them no be small...they pretend like they don't know or observe what is going around but once they are in their closed doors... Chai! Things weyy women no fit gossip about you will be shocked to see them talk about it. I have also noticed them to be the "Eye Service Beings" they can so do eye service...chai! For instance, when they sit together and a female course mate or colleague passes by, they will hail her and call her all the sweetest names, once she's out of sight...chaiii...you will hear them say things like..." Asewo, she has slept with this, she has done that, she is too fat or too slim, she is that she is this...all sorts of absurd things you can ever imagine!
Men I SMH for them oo!

the difference is the content. Men gossip intellectually, women gossip just about any thing, frm colour of the bag to the way a person walks. Basically men talk abt maybe character, the manner of a person, at the end you gain something. But women , its a whirlwind of gossip with no lesson.

Crap! Most of the ladies talk abt other people esp. Other ladies. Most of what guys talk abt in people esp their friend's absence. They can repeat in their presence and laugh about it. Don't be deceived women and gossips is like fish and water. Men's talk always have content, women talk as mundane as "y would she wear a dark blue skirt instead of black"

Yea lolsss your head dey there jor....men can be something else, am usually very sceptical when they throw compliments like saying you are the prettiest, the sexiest they've seen and you are like shuo! don't be deceived, they've said same thing to multiple girls...it can be embarrassing and deceiving when they flocking all around you and lavishing you with sweet words but only an inexperienced lady will fall for their antics....notice how they can praise an average lady that she gets carried away, try her hands in beauty pageants and these same men are all ready to boo her for not being beautiful enough (not that i care tho)...men hmmmm
