Reason We Attacked Militants Hideout In Calabar - Air Commodore Owoh

The 207 Special Mobility Group of the Nigerian Air Force in Calabar has carried out air raids on hideouts of criminal elements on Calabar waterways, the Commander, Charles Ohwo, has said.

Ohwo, an Air Commodore, said Thursday in Calabar that the raids were carried out in compliance with the directive of the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Adesola Amosu, following a series of kidnapping and other criminal activities in Calabar.

Militants attacked a police armoury in Calabar this week killing at least two people and carting away a large cache of weapons.

“Of late, you noticed that in Cross River, especially in Calabar, there has been an increase in kidnapping and theft cases spearheaded by militants, the latest being the attack on Marine Police.

“The Chief of Air Staff directed the Mobility Command to ensure that the militants do not patrol along Calabar waterways again and to reassure the people that the Air Force is always able and ready.
“So the display is just to assure the people of our combat readiness and we recorded successes, ‘’ Ohwo said.

The commander said the Combat Aircraft MI-24 was being used in the operation and that the command was expecting the arrival of another fighter jet, MI-17.
According to him, the command will continue to carry out such raids as often as possible until the bandits are cleared out of its area of responsibilities.
Ohwo said the command was mindful of the safety and continued operations of fishermen during the raids and had informed other sister security agencies in the state about the operation.
“The fight to flush out criminals is a collective responsibility by all security agencies, ‘’ he said.
There has been an upsurge in criminal activities in the state in recent times, especially in Calabar jetties.

I don't understand how everyone can see the efforts PMB is putting in, in the fight against BH yet some people deliberately pretend the armed forces have completely ignored BH and are facing Calabar.

1. Relocation of the command centre

2. The composition of the MNJTF and establishment of their headquarters

3. The commitment of $100 million to fight the terrorists.

4. The release of $21 million already for the fight.

5. The donation of $5 million from the U.S alongside technical and weapons support.

6. The commitment of the G7 to eliminating the terrorists.

While there is clearly a brief transitional lull in the actual fight which makes the terrorists appear to be winning, it should be appreciated that the aforementioned are crucial and vital for a solid foundation for dealing the blood suckers a final fatal blow. Fighting the militants does not translate into stopping the fight against BH, allowing such criminals to fester in the first place is what balloons into problems like BH.

All militants, kidnappers, and demented elements that think they can threaten Nigerians should either make good their threats, repent, or embrace the Hell-fire from the air.

These boys were clearly stockpiling arms to create chaos and cause the loss of innocent lives and property. This decisive action will let them know things are no longer the same, and criminals will not be treated with kid gloves under this administration.

Some fellow young Nigerians actually went as far as posting fake pictures and stories of the attack on the militants to create bad blood for President Buhari.

Fake reasons.

Police action, not bombing, is required to stop such crimes as kidnap for ransom and other illegal activities stated by Owoh.

The real reason for the bombing of south south is sending coded message to militants in the South south that they should beware, else, they face the same bombings.

Regional government system with fiscal federalism should have stooped Boko Haram and militancy in oil producing areas.

Actually this is a message without any information. You people attacked militant base, what were the casualities recorded. How successful was the operation minus the gunners just relaesing bullets. And how sure were you that you targetted the militants that attacked the police base earlier?
Or were you ppl just shooting plantain and banana trees from on high?

Why not use it on Book haram? You guys are ready to flush out criminals but when it comes to terrorists you remember they are your brothers and civilians could be hurt. I don't support such actions.

I don't know about stock piling arms but I do know that the security status and approach needs a serious media campaign against the return of militancy or criminality in cross river and ND.

The kunu sipping monkey from daura has brought his jihad to cross river bombing innocent villagers with a gunship. This is pure genocide

Intel reports are confirming the Nigeria Air Force raid in Cross River was actually on a border community Ikot Obiokut.
The raid by Hind helicopter gunships using incendiary bombs massacred over three hundred villagers.
One villager who escaped the massacre by swimming across the creek reported that they were going about their normal business when suddenly the gunship flew over the village.
Villagers who were not engaged in any criminal activity came out to wave to the aircraft when suddenly the gunship opened fire. Those who ran into their houses were roasted when they gunship came back and napalmed the whole village.
Uwem, the survivor, is now living in fear of his life.

The false information is usually spread by a few disgruntled Niger deltans and a hand full of my misguided brothers from the east. Hating for no reason. They seem to forget that a real peoples president like Buhari can multitask easily, very ,such unlike the bowler hat wearing dunce they hoisted on Nigeria for almost six painful and extremely excruciating years.
