Onitsha needs serious clean up, not looking good at all.
Far bigger cities even within Nigeria manage their wastes properly, why not Onitsha?

we don't have commisioner of environment in the state,we anambrarians don't have sanitation culture,how many times have they held weekend clean ups in the state,even when they announced it,people feel reluctant to participate..and just like the name implies"home for all"that dumb site at owerri road is being used by our neighbouring states(asaba,northern imo etc because of the close proximity)

as a regular visitor to onitsha for shopping I think the sanitation agency is doing a good work in carting away dirts. unlike before I never saw any heap of garbage anywhere within the city. The drainages are empty which shows cleanliness.

It's the job of the Ministry of environment and the waste management agency to dispose the waste, orientate people and also punish those who go against the rules. It worked in PH, Enugu and Lagos.

please those living in anambra,what's the latest development on the airport project?i learnt it's 50%completion...and i also think oba int.airport should be revamped,we need two airports in the state

The best method is to repeat what Fashola did in Lagos. Set up two strong groups in the ministry of environment.
The first group enforce sanitation dues and also contract private companies to cart away refuse regularly. Then the environmental beautification and reclamation group that plant trees and flowers along roads and open parks.

Workers Panic over June Salary in Anambra as Obiano assures on Workers’ Salaries, Delivery of Awka Flyovers on Schedule

www.odogwublog.com reports that following the panic on Friday that Anambra state is broke and
could not pay its workers June 2015 salary by the civil servants, Governor Willie Obiano has assured he would pay workers June salary despite the biting cash crunch.
And the release by SSA Media James Eze stated thus-------------- In spite of the biting cash crunch that has made it impossible for many states in the country to pay workers their salaries, the governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano at the weekend assured Anambra workers that their salaries would always be paid and that the three flyovers simultaneously coming up in the state capital would all be delivered on schedule.
Obiano who spoke during an unscheduled tour of the Flyovers at the weekend also assured that the prevailing economic downturn would not halt any of the massive construction works going on in different parts of the state.
The governor expressed satisfaction with the quality and pace of work on the bridges and maintained that things were going according to plan. “These three bridges we are seeing will be completed according to plan. Two will be completed in August this year while the other one will be completed in April next year. So, before May next year, we would have completed all these projects,” he enthused.
Governor Obiano further observed that the Managing Director of IDC, Mr.Shaheed was always on hand to personally ensure that construction work was going on as planned. According to him, “It may interest the doubting Thomases to know that we pay the bills on these bridges as they are processed and we are not going to renege on that. And we are not going to owe workers because of any of these projects. We are going to keep paying salaries,” the governor assured.
Also speaking, the Managing Director of IDC, Mr.Shaheed El-Ahel, assured that the flyovers would be delivered on schedule. “This particular Bridge, the Aroma Bridge will be finished by the end of August. Amawbia and Aroma must end in August this year. The Kwata Bridge will be finished and handed over with the ramps and everything by April ending next year,” Mr. El-Ahel assured.

i must say anambra is pulling weight like a big oil producing state just like my state akwaibom. this is a real development. anambra ayaya. am so happy for this great state.

Obiano/ Anambra-State are Moving on a Fast-Lane of Economic Development!. If Obiano can succeed this year in closing the tax loopholes,then Anambra-State should be on at least 5 to 6 billion Monthly on Igr!

If only Imo and Abia would wake up to their responsibilities then there may be hope for a coordinated regional wide development.

I just left Okwei Street now, walahi Moore Street to Venn Road North and South, Iweka are all dirty.
I wonder what the waste disposal body and ministry environment are doing over the sad development.

Serious the dirt is very unbearable, the sight of the heaps of refuse just ruin my day somehow.

A new commissioner of environment have taken over from the ineffective former commissioner!. They are collecting a lot of money from Businesses/Property owners here in Awada!. For instance, I pay between 30,000 to 45,000 thousand quaterly just in one of mine properties minus others & businesses!.Anambra-State in Onitsha & environs alone should be collecting 4 to 6 Billion monthly.There are many levies in Onitsha going to Private Hands amounting to BILLIONs Monthly!.

On my way back from PH few hours ago I noticed Agulu lake Hotel has been completed, the whole place has been light-up, I believe it will be commission soon, Government attention is also needed some parts of Onitsha, the commissioner of environment need to pay more attention around upper Iweka, up flyover, and Onitsha Owerri road, Uga/Ekwulobia road is also seeking for government attention, and Oba where they dump refuse, seriously need to pay more attention on, I noticed the state government are trying to use fence to block the refuse site, although times are hard, we apperciate his great efforts paying works and doing all these massive projects, I want to use this opportunity to thank Gov Obiano for the morden bus-stop, signposts and road marking going on around Anambra, beautification of Borromeo round-about, Oba international market and other projects, so many states are facing economic crunch, this great man is till performing, I pray for God's guidance, protection, strength, wisdom, love, good health for you, your family ,your team and Ndi Igbo.

There are Two Most Important States in Alaigbo if Igbos are going to Sour like the Eagle & be The Economic Tiger they are created to be!. One is Anambra & the other is Abia-State!.The Type of people governing these two States will greatly determine our economic Survival & Domination in Nigeria & Beyond!.Our People needs Leaders who will lead them & Make them know that for you to be Economic Tiger, You must have a Very Strong & Viabrant Economy at your Home Front!. Charity begins not in the North or West but at HOME!. For you to do that you must have at least 50% of Your population at Home & You must Have Obianos, Alex Ottis, Bath Nnajis,Ezekiel Izuogus,Soludos etc in charge of these States!

I commend obiano for these signature projects. Any updates on the level of work at the Federal Secretariat in Awka?
