Oga the people shouting know what they are talking about, it's clearly stated on the slip that it is not a replacement for the NIN or the card. The slip is just a proof that you've been enrolled, it's basically useless.

Did you read what I typed at all? Or did you even get d man at all? The slip may not be a replacement but starting from September 1st your NIN not your slip will be what matters for every transaction you wanna do. Cos NIMC has already linked your biodata to dat number so no hassles of hussling for d card as d NIN is what matters. That's why he called it a Paradigm shift.

Useless commission, got registered in 2013, up till now no card has been produced. They also wasted billions of tax payer fund on a farce recruitment which produces no result.

Next time ask politely if you don't know your way out instead of showing off your ignorance with a disgusting arrogance

These people are really learning from us, I wrote about this in my frontpage article!

The process is slow and it seems the management is incompetent as compared with the implementation of the BVN, but it should be implemented by law so that we have a unique ID system in Nigeria.

With your National ID, you should qualify for certain incentives like loans, overdraft etc, it would be mandatorily needed by banks as soon as it is implemented, so that they will tie every person to their accounts nationwide. Banks will even stop asking for collateral for certain amounts of money because you can no longer run with their money and if you do, they already know where you went to because the system is also tied to your international passport, drivers license etc and once you leave the country, they know where you are and they will easily write to the host country that you're a fugitive

Also, once you're arrested by the police, the first thing they do is take your thumbprint and your details come up immediately, that offense is recorded and your crime history is easily available to law enforcement to track you and invite you for questioning when you are spotted within a location where a crime is committed, that's the system used abroad to draw up a list of suspects when a crime has no face on it

Also, before you rent a house, your landlord gives you a form and requests your Identity which he uses to run a background check with the authorities to know if you have outstanding criminal cases like child abuse (in case he has kids that could be vulnerable).
Before you get a job, get admission into school, run for a political appointment, get a loan from the bank or lending company etc, a bankground check is done with your identity

It has been long overdue in a country like Nigeria having serious security issues and abuse of office and power issues.
makes lot of sense, but what you are forgetting is that it will cost billions to implement

you have ur nin already, like was said earlier, that's the most important part, the card is just for the payment functionality, in America u don't hear them talk about social security card, u hear social security number, and that is what your nin is, so my dear forget about waiting for the card, you have th e important one, if I were u I would delete this pic, because u are not meant to show the whole country ur nin [quote author=themodernman post=35042121]

gfullmoon:
You guys and Ladies are missing something here. The National Identity Number (NIN) qualifies you for the National e-ID card. Once you enrol, you'll be issued the NIN. When the NIMC infrastructure is fully deployed your identity will be definitely verified or authenticated with your NIN even without the e-ID Card. So the above emphasis is not about that e-ID Card per se but the NIN Issuance which doesn't take time. Despite the e-ID card issuance is a bit taking time, but those who had collected theirs have confessed that the National e-ID card worth the wait. It's not an ordinary ID Card like most of us think you can print in every business centre. It's a National e-ID Card closely tied to your identity, not only is it tied to your Identity,it has a payment amplet or functionality etc i.e you can use it as a credit card,to make purchase via POS and other electronic Channels. So do avail yourself of the this great opportunity to get registered and make sure you do so with your real or official Identity,as once your NIN is issued to you, you cannot successfully be registered again. That's why they have a slogan in NIMC that says,''You can only lie to us once, and live with the lie till the rest of your life''. Be guided appropriately.

Agency started on the road to this in 2007,eith most of what u have written and more on their plan, actually most have been implemented, farmers received funds from the federal government through the e wallet, and the nin was used in the process, so my dear they are not learning from you, these things have been on, embassies ask for your nin now when u apply for visas
