Your list isn't complete without the following:

- Joey Barton
- El Hadji Diouf (still active)
- Carlos Tevez
- Ibrahimovic
- Totti

And the all time list includes the following:

- Edmundo
- Patrick Vieira
- Ben Thatcher
- Eric Cantona
- Paolo Di Canio
- Riquelme

But Edmundo will always be the most psychotic footballer ever - no one is ever going to be close.

I think Zidane should be number 1 on this list only because he head-butted an opponent during the 2006 World Cup final of which he was sent off and it cost France the championship. This was supposed to be his last football appearance before retiring.
Zidance committed one of the most violent fouls in football. But his record doesnt surpass people like Gattuso, Cantona etc

The craziest, maddest, fiercest, most aggressive footballer of all time is eric cantona . He was so crazy and made so many enemies,he didn't even have a farewell game on his behalf. That guy at times hits anyone he is mad at on the head with the stud of his football boots .

Lol.

Edmundo the Animal is from a next planet - so crazy, I doubt he ever played for any club apart from Vasco da Gama for more than a season - despite how talented he was. He was as good as Romario. grin

Yes, Gazza was also nuts.

Throw Peter Schmeichel, Oliver Kahn, and Jens Lehmann in there - super crazy goalkeepers. grin

In a speech after Messi humiliated Boateng against Bayern munich............"The best way to hold Messi is to kick him." - Gattuso.
.
Now, this is AGGRESSION; in and off the pitch.

Gattuso was like a wild dog who doesn't recognise its owner let alone opponents.

Coaches usually told their players 'while playing against AC Milan, pass the ball as quickly as ever when Gattuso charges at you'.

one common feature among these aggressive players was their incredible talent and football skills . They were virtually the very best in the game at their time

This is my opinion(probably some of you football fans have observed it too): I consider sergio Ramos the most aggressive player.

There is hardly a match Ramos dsnt confront opposition players after a foul against his team. He usually runs to the scene furiously sometimes being the first to hit or rain insults on opposition player. My God, he's always at the centre of a fight.

This was funny: I watched a match(champions league), isco was brought down by the opposition. Ramos ran a record breaking time, got to the scene first. The referee left all the players and held firmly on Ramos, like he was the only problem on the pitch.
