If you'd read that portion of scripture in its context, you'd have realised that the "Letter" refers to the LAW that was written down. This is why a diligent study of scripture is pertinent. Reading the bible is not an esoteric act. There is no "allowing the Spirit to speak to you". Those words, especially from the psalms,prophets, the gospels, and the epistles, were spoken and written down by the inspiration of the spirit. Your responsibility is to study diligently, and avoid reading your own meaning into texts as you did in the scripture you quoted. Why do you think there are "sincere" preachers/Christians with erroneous doctrines?

thanks for your observations,if the Bible was written under the inspiration of the Holy spirit then you will as well agree with me that it's under the inspiration of the same personality that you can really understand the message,hence that passage talks about the ministry of the Holy Spirit.Your responsibility of a truth is to study the word diligently but how can you do it without the help of the Holy Spirit,it begins with you understanding what you are made of,you are a spirit being wearing an earth suit,to do the bidding of Him who made you .

Being a graduate for five years now and no job ,I just opened up a barbibg salon of mine,I've always been a faithful tither,but I need more clarification on this topic,pls does tithing bring the blessings of God upon a person

My advice to you is to judge with the evidence of your own life. Has paying of tithe been really beneficial to you? Has it made you special and has blessed you financially?

For me it appears that theonly person benefiting from the tithe scam is the pastor. I know too many people who are broke and lack jobs eventhough they are faithful tithers. They have done their own part of the bargain, the question is why is God not fulfilling his own part by providing endless financial resources to them? Tithing is lie. If you start doing well now, they will say its because of your tithe. It is a lie.

And Jesus said A NEW COMMANDMENT I give unto you. And that is Love and not the LAW. TITHES is the Law and anybody under the law is CURSED
