Mr Walesby is the certification by high court accepted?

How come no1 is toking about it? People rather spend all day in queues at the german embassy than use the court method.

There must be a reason. Is it cos its free @ embassy whereas the court demands a fee ?

My dear, the only answer is that, these set of Nigerians are simply stupid. They are very annoying. Sometimes I just ignore , the other times am moved by compassion to help.

Except the School ask for certification by the Embassy, it is foolishness to queue up to certify documents there.

The high court in Enugu, charge 30naira per page. Why would a fool, travel from here to lagos to certify documents.

If you send your documents to a resident in Germany who can help you certify the documents then no problem.

The question you should ask is "Would the certifying body ask for identification? will whoever is certifying them for you be queried?"

Plus you will have to send your original documents to Germany, unless you are currently there I feel certifying in Germany is a hassle.[/quote

For the blocked account thingy, all should note that its not all staff in the bank that knows about the procedure so the negative replies.
Last year, most people used union bank and it was easy and smooth, I will gather the details later from different ogas that did theirs and get back to you....for now, I'm a bit busy....

Again, you can easily use cornerstone insurance for your visa collection, its also as cheap as IGI.

@telvinfantasy

It is my opinion that you should certify your documents here in Nigeria, what if something happens to the originals you send to your uncle? That would be bad. Doing it here in Nigeria isn't costly so you should consider it.

Personally I don't know how possible it is to secure admission with your credentials (I am not saying it is not possible, just that I do not know).

Similar questions like this have been asked I am sure if you read through the thread you will find an answer.

However I do believe transcripts are compulsory.

ON PAYMENT INTO BLOCKED ACCOUNT

I can boldly say that Union bank will process the transfer without hitches. On Tuesday I processed payment for my accommodation and it was done yesterday, today I received the telex copy which I sent to the school to confirm receipt of my payment. The rate used for me was 229 naira per euro, it toook only 2 days.
Just as mentioned, walk into any union bank(you must have at least a regular savings account), ask for the funds transfer(FT) officer, mention you want to transfer some money into a german account as part of requirement from the embassy. Tell them to give you a Form A(its a form from CBN used to pay for intangible goods unlike form M is used for tangible good i.e importation of physical good). Don't forget to go with your first degree cert, a letter instructing the bank to debit your account, admission letter, any document showing evidence of payment to be made, beneficiary details including the IBAN number and swift code, and your int'l passport.

NOTE: Some FT officers or branches may not be familiar with this transaction either because they are new to the bank or they don't have such regular transfers, insist on getting the attention of the head of branch operations and if she/he is also ignorant ask them to confirm from their head office's foreign operations unit(that's where it done).

I hope I have not been too technical with the details, I just wanted to explain a lil. A friend who travelled to uni of jena last year also used union bank.

Cheers All.

Ok folks, once again u r wonderful people. Am stuck again and u have to rescue me.
Finally i have 2 admission letters. frm Uni Hohenheim in Stuttgart/south Germany and Uni Bremen/North. I've already accepted 1 and I have time to reject or accept the other. I dnt wanna waste any slot and I also want d best 4myself that's y I'm consulting 1st. I wanna begin my processing 1st thing next week but I'm puzzled on which 1 to work with. Here are the reasons-
* I'm not just goin 2 study but to WORK. and STUDY!. So I want a town where this can easily be achieved. My ppl cant send me money while I'm there. I know them. I have my Goethe A1 and A2 certificate. Hop to start B1. Which of these towns will beta support my intention?
* Uni Bremen gave me the full course I rily want to study "Ecology" and has more reputation and standing than Uni Hohenheim but I must pay semester fee of 283 Euro b4 Aug 15. I contacted them abt accommodation but they said they don't provide any1 with accommodation.. While Uni Hohenheim isn't quite as big as Uni Bremen, the course offered is "Landscape Ecology", but I find them to be more organized. In my admission letter they included other letters meant for me and the embassy tellin them not to worry about my accommodation, that they have a hostel for international students. Enrollment til December 15.
Fellow Nairalanders, considering these esp interview questions. if u were me, which wil u go for and y? I need contributions esp from those studyin in Deutschland already (na Una get d 1st question). pls help b4 Monday.

The answer is obvious, Bremen has nothing on Stuttgart, the capital of Baden Württemberg, I can count the cities that will trump what it offers in respect to your needs on my fingers. Whether in the use of English (Destination for Americans) or in terms of hustle, Stuttgart is head over shoulders above Bremen. However, Uni Bremen is one of the 11 German prestigious universities and Hoheinheim doesn't come close to that.

Hello Telvin, Let me be frank with you. your documents will be returned if you are a Nigerian, and you submit certified copies from Germany. The hologram/stamp differs form what's obtainable here and this will be easily noticed by Uni-assist or the receiving institution. The certification has to be done in your home country. I know someone on this thread whose document was sent back by Uni-assist cos his brother certified for him over there. when the documents got to uni-assist, it was rejected. so he has to go over the process of certifying them here and sending the certified copies to his brother who finally submitted it, and it was accepted.

So why not take the pain of certifying your documents here. Its not compulsory for you to use the embassy, You can use the notary public, or high court in your region/state, send it over to him if truly he wanna help. Moreso, nobody can influence the schools decision. your brother will also submit to Uniassist the same way people from Nigeria, Ghana, Usa, Australia, canada, Togo e.t.c did (that's if the school corperate with assist and also makes it mandatory for international student). If you find Uni-assist too expensive, you can search for English taught programme on Daad, then visit each school department website to know the admission requirement.

Mind you, using Uni-assist is a better option in my opinion. This is because the applicants are limited compared to direct application. thousand of other applicants also want to evade Uni-assist hence resulting in series/multiple application. and the admission process will be strict cos the school will have alot to handle. There's no assurance anywhere. God is the perfect being. Don't be surprised that an intending Msc candidate with Nigerian CGPA of 4.2 was rejected. So pray, be positive, be hopeful and be wise.

Your Uncle being married to a German citizen doesn't really have anything to do with your admission though.

Did he apply with ND, WAEC AND TRANSCRIPTS?

If your are not sure about the schools requirements you can check their website or send them an email. I didn't apply to that school and I also used different credentials so unfortunately I am not a 'guru' in this aspect.

If the school says you MUST use uni-assist there is no hoodwinking it, you are an international student and if that is what they ask of you then you have to do it.

That being said, if the school doesn't ask you to go through uni-assist then you don't have to.

You can check the first thread if you didn't find any answers here. If you are applying for next year you have ample time to go through the thread so goodluck.

I hope you are not applying to just one school though? I was fortunate to get accepted to the one school I applied to but competition is increasing every year so it is best if you have other options.

If your Uncle (I will assume he is a legal citizen) earns above 1500 euros monthly he can sponsor you.

Regarding the assurance you will still have to look at the admission requirements for the course you want to apply to and send him the necessary documents which he will then have to send to the school. So in this case the assurances lies with whether or not your uncle is a reliable man to send your necessary documents on time.

But why send it to him when you can send it to the school yourself?
