President Muhammadu Buhari has decided to stop
participating in Juma’at prayers at the National
Mosque, Abuja.

Rather, the President will henceforth mostly observe
the Juma’at prayers with other Muslims at the
Presidential Villa Mosque.

This was contained in a statement made available to
journalists on Friday by the Special Adviser to the
President on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina.
Adesina said Buhari took the decision out of
consideration for the hardships always imposed on
members of the public by road closures during
presidential movements.

The statement read, “President Muhammadu Buhari
participated in today’s Juma’at prayer at the
Presidential Villa Mosque.

“President Buhari did so out of consideration for
avoidable hardships imposed on members of the public
by road closures and other security measures which
Presidential movements to the National Mosque
necessitate.

“Accordingly, the President has decided that
henceforth he will mostly observe the Juma’at prayers
with other Muslims at the Presidential Villa Mosque.

“President Buhari will still join the larger Muslim
Community for Friday prayers at the National Mosque
and other mosques in Abuja occasionally.”

Friday was the first time a Juma’at service will be held
inside the Presidential Villa.

All former Muslim Presidents and Vice Presidents have
been taking part in the services at the National
Mosque, Abuja.

Since his inauguration on May 29, Buhari had taken
part in three Jumat services at the National Mosque.
He was in his hometown, Daura, Katsina State, last
Friday.

The Friday prayer was led by the State House Chief
Imam, Abdulwaheed Suleiman.
Buhari was joined by aides and other workers in the
villa.

It is ok and doesn't warrant applause or commendation. That is the idea thing to do unlike the previous government that blows siren to block our ear and cause a long traffic.

You are so on point, Opribo. We cannot be distracted by frivolities!!!

So may I ask what is the achievement here. That a man decides for personal reasons to worship in a more convenient place that is closer to him has now turned to public news. Seriously there are major issues to be tackled by this govt than this unnecessary piece of info.

Waiting for when they will end Boko haram and bring the Chibok girls also giving us 24hrs electricity. If they like they can go to Saudi mosque for all I care. They should just fulfill their campaign promises. That's all.

PMB, Sharia criminal laws mongers are out to rubbish your tenure and rubbish Nigeria as they did in the last decade. They have started in Kano state where they recently sentenced many Nigerians to death.

PMB, rise up from prayers and also condemn sharia criminal law mongers, because prayers without good works are nullity.
Pls what's is your problem with sharia law is it applicable to Christians?, NO so if Muslims are not complaining why the fuss?

But he once said he would obey traffic rules, so he hasn't been obeying traffic rules all this while but rather closing down traffic.
Sycophancy at its best, this is a decision any reasonable person will take. A President shouldn't be causing weekly traffic congestion in the name of going to mosque while he can as well attend Villa mosque to prevent traffic hardship for citizens.

Nigeria is one funny country..What has his decision to pray at home got to do with anything? Who cares what he believes in? The same pathetic propaganda machines are the ones pushing stories like these to the front page.......

What has he done for Nigeria since becoming president? The church or mosque you go to is none of our business. So because you claim to go to a mosque, that makes you a good man or a competent president? No sir.

You claimed Boko Haram were your brothers and you defended them. Are you still a good muslim? Maybe.

Please do something useful. I probably do not blame you but the APC (South West Branch) propaganda guys who seem to love you more than the North even loves you.

Please how will the humility translate to food, fuel and stop the boko haram from killing their brothers.

Humility my foot.
He is coming to terms with presidential way of life.
He is afraid of his life, definitely a security advice.

Meanwhile is that part of his achievements for 30days in power?

Bob Marley will be singing 'buffalo president ', if he was still alive. No ministers, no special advisers, no policy advisers, no NNPC board, no chibok girls, no ....... But wait, one month has passed since swearing in, yet no activity in pursuance of governance. One man rule for 28 days. Now we are hearing about praying here or there. This is another dictatorship.
