well I am also applying to that same course. If u check out the requirement, you will see you need at least HND or 1 year university transcript. Mechanic certificate or 6month sea training or internship contract with a shipping company. First and foremost, your diploma can't get you admitted but if you meet all other requirements, you can apply with ur diploma transcript +secondary school certificate + prove of English proficiency and mechanic certificate or 6 month training on sea or internship contract with a shipping coy. There is no harm in trying if you meet other criteria but don't put all hopes.

Hello Telvin, Let me be frank with you. your documents will be returned if you are a Nigerian, and you submit certified copies from Germany. The hologram/stamp differs form what's obtainable here and this will be easily noticed by Uni-assist or the receiving institution. The certification has to be done in your home country. I know someone on this thread whose document was sent back by Uni-assist cos his brother certified for him over there. when the documents got to uni-assist, it was rejected. so he has to go over the process of certifying them here and sending the certified copies to his brother who finally submitted it, and it was accepted.

So why not take the pain of certifying your documents here. Its not compulsory for you to use the embassy, You can use the notary public, or high court in your region/state, send it over to him if truly he wanna help. Moreso, nobody can influence the schools decision. your brother will also submit to Uniassist the same way people from Nigeria, Ghana, Usa, Australia, canada, Togo e.t.c did (that's if the school corperate with assist and also makes it mandatory for international student). If you find Uni-assist too expensive, you can search for English taught programme on Daad, then visit each school department website to know the admission requirement.

Mind you, using Uni-assist is a better option in my opinion. This is because the applicants are limited compared to direct application. thousand of other applicants also want to evade Uni-assist hence resulting in series/multiple application. and the admission process will be strict cos the school will have alot to handle. There's no assurance anywhere. God is the perfect being. Don't be surprised that an intending Msc candidate with Nigerian CGPA of 4.2 was rejected. So pray, be positive, be hopeful and be wise.

Pls how much is the visa fee of 60Euro in Naira?
Re: General German Visa Enquiries Part 2 by obs3rver: 10:36am On Jun 27, 2015
Adding to what has already been said about transferring the blocked account money, I was at GT Bank with my documents, and they said it can be done there also. Be sure to go along with your first degree certificate, NYSC discharge certificate, Admission letter, proof of the amount to be transferred (letter sent by the bank in Germany), international passport, and the print out of the visa requirement by the German embassy (though the person I spoke with at GTB said it was not needed). I would also advise those who are in states where these banks have their headquarters to head to the various headquarters to do it, because I was told the documents would still be transferred to the bank's headquarters for treatment (for GT Bank, this is somewhere in VI, Lagos), and this is what makes it take longer than expected. Normally, it should take a day or two to initiate and complete the transfer, according to them.

My pleasure. Btw the interview was successful thankfully. Read up on your course structure, the modules you'd take particularly core courses, but also a number of electives. Know the number of countries that surround Germany and be able to list all; know the 16 lander (federal states in germany); be prepared to state the link btw what you studied in undergrad/ your relevant work experience with the course you're going to study in germany; they will ask if you'd be comming back o *ghen ghen* (better talk truth o ..highest if you nor de come back yarn dem say you go continue to PhD); they will also ask you general questions about the city where your school is; population of germany; who is the president (nor go dull yourself like baba one chance o ...president na joachim gaucke and not angela merkel. The latter is the chancellor). Then one or two other relatively easy questions.

Bon chance!

DILEMMA DILEMMA DILEMMA...

Hello house. Please help out with candid advice... I have offers of admission from two universities in Germany:
1. TU BERLIN.
2. Leibnitz University Hannover

Ogas in the house, please advise me in terms of prospects of finding students work and life after graduating in those two cities. What is life like generally in Hannover especially?

Thank you so much.

PS: the courses I was offered by both schools are fantastic.

Bro, I sent you an email. Please check. The enrolment deadline for both programmes is 30 September, 2015.

I really don't have solid information on the economic climate in Hannover. I have to factor this into my plans as the courses I was offered by both schools are of an equal footing.

Whatever school you are gonna pick do know enrolment deadline really matters because the embassy will require some weeks to process your visa.
So pls my advice is that u go to lagos embassy after uve gotten ur sponsorship letter IMMEDIATELY..
You said it will be ready this Monday.. Ma guy enter lag sharperly on Monday.. So that max Tuesday (EARLY MOMO!! I.E 6:30am) u should book your appointment.

Thanks for the advice. But why do I have to go to Lagos to book an appointment? Thought the booking is done by email? Abeg ooo don't tell me there's been policy change. Clarify please.

As for the schools, I agree that both are good. But I'm also looking at the economic angle. Wish I could get the input of someone who has lived in Hannover.

Hannover is good but Berlin is better. You will definitely find work-study programmes or student jobs in both cities. If am to chose I would prefer Berlin to Hannover.
