How on earth asking such a question from your husband if he love his child more than you.

My wife has not asked me the question yet but I know she's aware of the fact that i give our daughter more attention at home.
It's not my fault,our daughter grabs my attention whether I give her or not.

Honestly,I've observed and heard many women say their husbands seem to love their kids the more.

@poster...that's normal with women sha, they can't stand being shared with anyone else but in this case, it's quite surprising it's her daughter!!

Anyway, you just have to let her know she is the best thing that ever happened to you, make her feel secured and tell her u luv her more than you guy's daughter (even if it means lying about that for now)

At the end of the day, she is still just a woman, so don't be surprised by her Q!!

@op, is she the birth-mother or the stepmother of the child? if she's the birth-mother, i see no reason why she should see your daughter as a rival (sorry to put it that way but that's how it seems to me).

its not healthy and she shouldn't be comparing at all. she should be grateful that you've got that bond with your daughter and like someone said earlier, make her feel more secure. if you are getting a present for your daughter, get for her too; if you usually take your daughter out whenever you are free, include her in such outings and so on.

You made your point by telling her you love them both. But you would have skipped telling her that "women and jealousy are synonymous".

funny enough, i've seen cases where the husbands complain that their wives relegate them because of the new baby and yours is just like the opposite. its all good, handle it properly and you guys will be fine

@OP, this is normal especially for a daughter and father. My wife has accused me several times of loving our daughter more than her. I normally laff and jokingly tell her that she is now old school while the girl is the new school. Your girl is just a year old and your wife is already complaining. Just brace up and your wife should also brace up because the affection from your daughter is going to increase as she grows older. My wife is already smiling at the prospect of our daughter entering secondary school boarding house next year. To her thinking, that will reduce the competition.

If your wife becomes hostile in any way to your/her daughter as a result of her perception, then something is definitely wrong with the question.

Your head dey there, but unfortunately women hardly understand. Some wife can even interpret your closeness to trying to sleep with your daughter.
