The entirety of this blame goes to Osun people including the workers. This man was unable to remit pension deductions for polytechnic workers in his first term, yet some irrational thinkers still voted for him for second term because of religious and parochial considerations. It's a hard lesson for would-be voters in 2018.

LMAO! He's just paying a fraction of November and December salaries...
Also, Aregbesola, to the best of my knowledge, did not appoint commissioners or aides, so whose salary is he slashing exactly?

This man STILL doesn't want to leave propaganda alone, it seems.
God bless u for me.

which stupid propaganda are you talking about? That it is not true that he is still owing 6 months salary? Propaganda dat he is only paying half a month(november) pension to pensioners or the propaganda that he is still owing pensioners 7 and half pensioner.
Is that what you call no ordinary governor?

I bet you are not directly affected. That is why you get the mouth to yarn this dust. SMH

Why single him out? Many Governors are owing workers arrears, some even above six months! You should always put events in their proper contexts. What happened has been unfortunate, but making him a scapegoat is atrocious.

Kindest regards

why should I care if 1000 governors are owing. Am I from there states? I live in Osun and I am directly affected by the governor's ineffective action. Why should I carry another state's cross when I am directly affected in my state.

Haha.. The SW is in serious trouble o, was it not a few weeks ago that Ambode was removing labor from his workforce? Haha, there is trouble o.

Government should never be the major employer or formal labour...Government need to be an agent of infrastructure development and the protector of rule of law and not a cooperate company or business venture that employ labor.
Nigeria is in deep messed because of corrupt political class, corrupt civil service and lazy inefficient civil service. I think the size of states like osun civil service need to be slashed because of too many lazy workers.

Agriculture, mining, manufacturing and servicing should be the major contributors to employment generation and not some civil service commission

A google search shows only premium times carrying the news almost an hour after it broke. Why?
Assuming it's true- how do 1 1/2 months out of 7 1/2 give any kind of cause for jubilation?
Has he made known the amount he got from the eca?
Has he published a list of said officials and their (normal) wages and allowances?
Are pensioners getting paid first or do they have to do 'verification' beforehand?
Has he officially apologised to his people, or is he still hiding behind his lackeys?
Meanwhile- where was all this debt during elections? Why did the workers in osun rally round, campaign for and vote in a man who (as at april) was owing them over 5 months' wages?!
Were they properly 'settled'? Abi dem no need d money 'like dat'?

Aregbe is a good lad! grin

On a more serious note....Aregbe should

1.Go and read Lee Kwam Yeu.

2.Pay a visit to Singapore.

3.Go and do likewise in Osun.

4.He will never ever be remembered for salary arrears again!

Singapore has high educated middle class in the sixties when they left the Malaysian federation, they have skillful manpower, ready made entrepreneurship population that can set up small and medium scale industries and also have the patience to watch it grow. Singaporean were not like Nigerians that want to make money without working

Confirmed! Hope he clears the rest on time.

Political office holders include; house of assembly members & their aides and local government caretaker committes. Those two groups form 80% of political office holders.

Rubbish. Osun only has 26 House of Assembly members. Their aides are not paid directly by the Osun govt. It's paid from the allowances of the Honourable members which is decided by the Revenue and Fiscal Mobilisation Committee. It's a statutory organisations guided by the constitution. Only this body can alter the payment of Honourable members. Aregbe who never really apointed commissioners and SAs in the first place has no one's allowance to cut except his, and his illegal 30 LG Chairmen, perhaps. He is merely playing to the gallery

We seriously need revolution and attitudinal change.
Nigeria is a country where government that produce nothing is the highest employers of labour
A country that prioritize salary and allowances over road, rail, power, education and health care service
A country with majority of wealthy class politicians and ex permanent secretary.

Nigeria will never become an industrialized leading economy country if we continues in this path
Re: Aregbesola Commences Salary Payment, Cuts Pay Of Political Office Holders by Firefire(m): 7:56pm On Jun 30, 2015
we are taking of 30% November and part of December 2015 Salary here:

Aregbesola pays workers December salary

The Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress in Osun State, Mr. Jacob Adekomi, said on Tuesday, that Governor Rauf Aregbesola has approved the payment of December, 2014 salary for workers in the state.

Adekomi, who said this at a press conference he addressed after a meeting with the government delegation led by Chief of Staff, Mr. Gboyega Oyetola, added that the governor also approved the payment of the 30 per cent balance

of November salaries of some workers who were yet to be paid in full.

The NLC boss, however, said workers would not suspend their strike despite the payment of their one month salary out of seven months.

angry

The Head of Service, Mr. Sunday Owoeye, also confirmed that workers had started receiving alerts for balance of November and December 2014 salaries.

My people,I will beg you to never believe any news carried by ,they are bunch of liars that are ready to mislead people and cause rancour in the state.
as of now that am typing this, none of the Osun workers has receive a kobo out of their salary.
this is really bad because, what Aregbesola and his cohorts re doing is like adding salt to the injuries of workers in the state. this man should just shut up,get the money, start paying and let the workers talk themselves that they've been paid....

Are they still going to work?
Have they laid seige to his office?
Have the HA members been frog-marched by the workers to carry placards with them?
No?
Seriously?
Then what reason is there that the rest of the world should care what happens to them?
Heaven helps those who...

Here's a thought:
These workers must have found alternative sources of income by now (face it- the fact is that lenders can only do so much).
So how about using whatever you're paid to FIRST expand and establish that 'business'?
