Hi, everyone i just discovered this thread. I have a question where i work my boss pays us by transferring money into our accounts as there are no tax deductions and all as he is avoiding paying tax himself. In my form d-160 I don't know if to fill that am currently employed under my boss or that i do my own business as i do not want them looking at my statement and asking for my tax deductions. Even though am not the one sponsoring myself, my aunty is the one sponsoring me and i have her bank statement to show. But a friend of mine that is in the US said they wouldn't even look at my own bank statement, just that of my sponsor that they are concerned about. What do you guys suggest please?

yes she is in nigeria and shes the one that i used her bank statement for my 1-20

Thanks i appreciate your response and i also got a partial scholarship they school is paying for 40% of my tuition fees. Yes o am even goin with my Dads own and i have been to the US and back this year (May), was also there last and the year before and have a UK masters degree. So am believeing everything will move swiftly as i have a clean record with them

Hello, boss! It's not an issue. I went to embassy for my second interview with a month old statement of account which covers a range of six months transactions to the day of my interview. But, I will advise you to ask your sponsor for another one, if he is around, so you can nullify any margin of error during your interview day.

Apparently, it's not an issue. To save yourself from story, just have a connecting ticket (bus/flight) to the school on your i20.

JFK is a busy airport, Cbp might not ask about your final destination but just go prepared

Best thing sir is to book a connecting flight.Use greyhound which is a bus service.Book from naija with ur gtb naira master card.Print out ur confirmation page n carry am follow body.This was what saved me at Abu dhabi.You need to prove ur final destination ain't new york.Just be ready to be bullied.This is where u need ur lagos sense.

Just be sincere when filling that aspect because you will be ask how much your salary is, make sure you say what you exactly filled on your ds160...

Although every applicant interview questions varies and are slightly different.

I do understand that u wanted to update ur new ds160 code to reflect on ur appointment confirmation and also the no. of times u can reschedule has been exhausted.

But there's an option; contact the visa support services firm ( CGI ) at support-nigeria@ustraveldocs.com, for the update of ur new ds160, it takes no more than 48 hrs to be done by them once u have provided them with the necessary requirements like copies of passport bio-page & new ds160 confirmation etc. After which you log back onto ur profile to print the updated appointment confirmation.

That way, u no longer need to reschedule for it to be updated. I did mine this way, it worked. If it didn't, I wouldn't have quoted you.

you very right,I was asked series of questions by Qatar immigration officers when connecting out of Qatar..my visa was put through a light beam to verify if it was fake or original.POE at New York don't ask anything,they just asked for my i20 and wished me safe and we'll.

Please, if I am going to be driven down to my school by a friend or relative in a neighbouring state when I have arrived earlier than resumption date.....for instance am going to St loius and decide to chill at a friends place in chicago because I got a direct flight from LOS to O'hare....why would the VO say dont depart naija if its not 30 days to resumption?! I go just buy greyhound ticket wey I no go use ...

Because I called d embassy today and they said that my passport has been sent out and that I should check the collection center but d collection center has not yet sent me any messages to come pick it up

Also i have a sister in the states and in my previous forms i have been filling i have a sister but my friend is saying i should omit that in the form. but i do not think is right as it might not tally with what the have on my records. what do you guys think?
