I noticed the Embassy have been attending to applicants for student visa and neglecting applicants for visitor visa,am so fed up of this trash from the Canadian embassy, the way they get to threat Nigeria's on Visa application is so bad,I guess maybe we could go to the Canadian Embassy to complain,we could be able to get a response.

The way the Canadian embassy treats Nigerians is quite very bad,no means of contacting the embassy directly, when you send emails nor calls, they hardly reply...no one has a full information of what is going on,am so fed up of the so called process. For over 6weeks no response...Only God as the final say.

Wow, i sent my Canada passport to Nigeria consulate for visa, with payment in full and documents for my application and payment, bank statements, invitation letter and everything on the list.
It is one month ago now since i sent it with 3 day priority mail and included paid postage return express postage. The details said to wait 7-10 business days which would be about 3 weeks for me because of holidays and weekends.
Its only over a week overdue and i dont need the visa this month.

Will i ever see my passport again? Did they chop my money and passport? or are they waiting for something i am not aware of?
I can wait ,but i have to travel other places before Nigeria, i cant stay waiting without my passport like i have nowhere else to be going.
Why do they say 7-10 days if they cannot? The visa query contact is a call for profit number at $2.50 a minute and they haven't replied any emails.
Maybe the NG secret police are punishing me for all the bad bele i talked here on Nairaland past? shocked

I did go through the web site and it was not VFS global listed there. It was innovate global that i went through..
Maybe you are mistaken about me looking for a visa to leave Nigeria.. No, i am trying to get a visa to enter Nigeria. Trying to get a visa from Nigeria embassy/Consulate abroad so i can travel to Nigeria.

At least Nigeria claims it is a system of reciprocity where it will be as easy to get a visa to visit Nigeria as it is for a nigerian to get a visa to visit their country. Nigeria seems to reciprocates the same lack of reply of emails and delay of visa issue and so on. shocked

Re: Delay In Visa by ohk9ner: 10:31am On Jul 02, 2015
@19naia sorry about ur delay for ur nigerian visa, but before u can be granted a nigeria visa there re some rules & regulation attached to it,well i can help u out with it if u want me,but i think u will need to hold on to see the outcome of ur visa application....

1.if u re coming on tourist visa there some area u apply to & not just book a hotel accommodation.
2.if u re invited,i mean letter of invitation, there re some documents u will need to tender @ d embassy before u can be granted visa

so before i continue what & where did apply to or for.

@ bimbo,we just been hopeful abt the visa outcome,no info yet, don't knw why the Canadian embassy is treating applicants this way, maybe the VO's are on recession. Sent them an email yesterday no response from them till now.Lets keep the prayers and fasting going.

Thank you much, but it is ok now, they called me today after i sent an e-mail to them some days ago. They were delaying my visa because my travel dates were so far off and they wanted to be sure i did not get my visa so early that it would expire before i travelled..
The consulate called today and assured me they will process it now and stop the hold. I let them know my actual travel date is not so far off. I put a far off travel date on my original application but booked a different itinary date to send with my application.
All is good and they called me and spoke kindly and assured me they will process it now. Maybe by end of next week i will see it in the mail.
I was anxious because I will be travelling elsewhere before i ever reach Nigeria, and so wanted my passport back so soon to carry go with me to other destinations.
Off to Newyork in a few days and see my way beyond newyork from there and eventually to Nigeria proper in time to chop christams goat..
My yellow card is good now after injection, also menegitis and typhoid vaccines. Chai! I never thought antimalarials were so expensive but i got a few months supply for free from my medical coverage here in the US.
One day i go reach nigeria proper. grin
