Events pre and post 2015 elections leave so many puzzles which many Nigerians will continue to grabble with at least in the forseable future. At the time Boko haram escapade was increasing in torrents, news filtered around that the sect had agreed to lay down their arms in return for negotiation with the then presidency under Jonathan. However, as a condition for negotiation, Boko haram specifically and unequivocally nominated Buhari as their sole representative and mouthpiece.an offer he bluntly rejected. The wanton destruction of lives and property witnessed after the collapse of that offer is yet to be accurately documented.
In a rather questionable manner, one of the cardinal points of campaign by Buhari in the rundown to the last presidential election was insecurity and the pledge to wipeout Boko haram and this throws up the following among many questions;
1. Did Buhari intentionally decline the offer to negotiate for Boko haram knowing fully well that the continued insecurity breaches will further water down the image of Jonathan's govt while at the same time enhance his chance of using it as a campaign gimmick to win public sympathy?
2. Having now become the president, why is Buhari considering negotiating with a sect he declined to speak with as a private citizen? We should bear in mind that another ex-president, Olusegun Obasanjo volunteered to intervene in the crisis on his own volition.
3. It was reported in the media penultimate week that this govt was muting the idea of "rehabilitating" Boko haram members who repent from their dastardly acts, is this another way of granting amnesty to the sect, a proposition Buhari had brought to the table before he became president?
4. All the steps taken by the last administration to tackle Boko haram were roundly condemned by Buhari, why is he now adopting the same tactics after gaining power? The infamous visits to neighboring countries is a case study.
While the above could be seen as mere conjectures especially by the ever vociferous APC jingoists, do we have any reason to doubt the President's sincere commitment to take Boko haram headlong?

Every one knows the truth. Even the die hard APC fans but their trust for the General would continually blind them.

This is a man whose hunger for power didn't allow him help the former administration in tackling this insurgency.

A man who said an attack on BH is an attack to the north .......
I wish an APC can explain to me why he made this previous statement that once led to the death of youth corps members.
