What is Amonia please?
A chemical substance present in water, especially in areas that are close to dump sites. kills younger fishes faster .
the lower it is in your water the better. if you have high amonia content, you will have to change your water everyday.

FG is helping farmers under a registered cooperative call Drean Nation Alliance
It has online platform
Has a member you can acess a small loan of 200k to start with within 4 weeks
First to months is interest free while d next 10 months are 2% interest
So why don't u take d opportunity now
If u use d 200k for 5 months u can return it & collect 500k or more
U can access it from any where in naija because it is FG powered

There's this thing about making money. Not everyone has the opportunity to make clean money without hustling. Only if your parents have some fortune to spare, then you can make such. The drill is, you have to get down and dirty. By getting down and and dirty, I mean, hustling to the ground to make ends meet. Welders in the US are always happy to get down and dirty and make some quick bucks. Some of them earn fat salaries while others run their businesses. They don't care what people like you think of them, especially when they know they make more dough than you.

You keep running from one job to another, calling one or two people sir, doesn't mean you will have financial freedom. An uncle of mine, often called Chardon, started out with one container load of goods he imported. He had no shop of his own then, no warehouse, etc. He slept inside his container with his goods and at the same time, sold those goods to customers. He continued like that till he rented his own shop, warehouse and apartment. Then he became a millionaire and now he's a billionaire.

The best one can do is get to where others are hustling, learn one or two from them, make friends with them, encourage them, etc, because you don't know what you may fall back on in the future.

Yommiefish, more power to your elbow. We only need to tap from this your technique. Regards.
Thanks a lot. I appreciate u

The male and female of the African catfish can be easily recognized. The male has a distinct sexual papilla, elongated and located just behind the anus. This sexual papilla is usually red at the tip for sexually ready males. It is absent in females.

A sexually ready female has a swollen, usually
reddish genital opening. A view from the top
also gives a female African catfish away since
either side of the belly appears swollen.

More and more young Africans are discovering that they can make farming a profitable career.

Enayon Anthony is from a rural part of Delta
state in Nigeria. Anthony loved the catfish his
mother raised and cooked for family meals
throughout his youth. He even enjoyed feeding the fish. Eventually, he determined that fish could provide him with a livelihood.

“You can be a farmer and still make a good and honest living from it,” says the successful fish farmer and YALI Network member.

with the aid of a mini dam at the top of the vat, I am able to. The mini dam contains limestones and other chemical plus my pH meter handy to watch for any significant changes that may occur.

i have a concrete hatchery and made sure my ph was neutral range before i spread eggs.. later i fount that it had moved to 8.5-8.9 ... i operate a static water sytem, what could have caused the spike

Water PH do change with time. 8.5 pH level isn't that bad for hatching, it is its fluctuation or rapid drop that could impact negatively on lavae.

8.5 isn't bad for hatching. I can say that over again. The only thing you watch for is its sudden drop. Please consult your materials for desire water pH for hatching.

either way, there is no need to argue, i have flushed the pond, my ph eventually got to 10.3.. but i agree with yommie 8.5 is borderline ok.. and sudden drops will kill the fish but a ph of 10.3 like i got is faaaaaar from ok, and all my fish should be dead, even if it was a gradual drop over the course of 12 hours

I agree bro. 10.3 seems unreasonable. But, if your pH soar like this, should you not stop allowing the water from staying too long in your pond before spawning. The idea of storing water before use is for areas with low pH like Benin.

my brother nba the benin i dey o... but i think it was caused by pond leeching... its a newly constructed pond im about to attempt tarpaulin hatching... did you fertilize your tarp vat?
