A 14 Year old school girl known as Umeh Comfort Chiswolam, on July 7th committed suicide after a gang made up of 3 men raped her on the 28th of June in Umuahia North LGA at Iyienyi Village near Okwoyi community in Isieke Ibeku. The 14 year old was a virgin before she was ganged raped. The father who is known as Mr Umeh said that in the early morning of that fateful day which was on Tuesday, the mother had called her to find out how she was raped as she complained of so much pains all over her body. The mother told her to endure the pains till they are back from the Police Station where they had planed on going that early morning, but unknown to then the deceased had other plans on her mind. She took her jacket and we later found out that it was a scarf and a warning that no one should ever mention her name. We thought she was going to the toile....The sad heartbroken father added.
The culprits was said to have fled the community to an unknown place.
However the Mr Ezekiel the Public Relation Police Officer of Abia State who confirmed the incident and described it as an unfortunate event, promised to make sure he brings to book those who done this wickedness to the family of the deceased.
