Abeg am 26 weeks gone and I've been having indigestion especially at night. The back, waist and rib pain no be here o. Pls what can I do abt it? And Ehen can I do a scan now to know the sex of my baby? Last time I went at 5 months I was told it was too early.

UmmTwins2, Did your doctor carry out an internal examination to determine whether your cervix is closed or open?

Was a test done to see if you have a UTI?

Have you tried pain relievers? Eg. Paracetamol + codamol?

I had something similar over two days and I had to go to the hospital (I think I was 23weeks or so). I had full tests done. There was this swab test that was done called "FFN" (google it). It's used for checking for signs of preterm labour and the results are out in minutes.

All my tests came out clear/fine and I was given one off 2tabs of paracetamol with another pain killer (I will check my maternity notes and I will get back you) while I was at the hospital.

I went home, put myself on 3days self imposed bedrest. I took 2tabs of codamol everyday for the next two days and the contractions stopped.

10x so much sis, I missed ur comment. Haven't been able to come online. My doc didn't test me o, only pressed my tummy n asked if I felt pain. Its well. Pls what's d pain killer? I'll try d paracetamol then. Rily appreciate d help, I've jst been watching it closely

Okay, did they send you for any ultrasound? Are you well rested, do you drink enough fluids? All these things could cause the contractions. Braxton Hicks at this stage of pregnancy should be mostly painless. As someone who actually took a few doses of the salbutamol, mehn, it made me feel worse. But mine was actual contractions and they confirmed with uss /ve before prescribing the drug.

10x mamas, I'm grateful for ur help all d time. My sis I drink A LOT of water I've turned to fish sef lol n right now I dn't work, I'm home full time. When an USS was done den, my doc jst told me baby was fine, dats all. Wat reactns did u notice wt d drug n wat u doing now dt u stopped? @Kimoni I hope so too, 10x sis. IyaderaChuks, @justCurious 10x mamas, I'm grateful. I saw a midwife on tuesday n she advised nt to take it so I'm jst trying to rest more n keep watching closely for now. N den she told me to be pulling my n.ipples (I av almost "non-existent" n.ipples lol) bt I notice I get those braxton hicks making my tummy vry hard n uncomfortable when I do so, so I dn't know if its safe to continue doing it?

Pls stop pulling ur nipples. Stimulating of nipples is one way of inducing labour.

1. Normal,no cause for alarm.

2.Funbact A contains steroids, contraindicated in belle & as always preached here pregnancy comes with lots of baggages, what you have may be melasma, pls use lemon & honey if you must do something otherwise would advise to leave it till after delivery.

Hi mamas, went for my dating scan today and my baby was dated 12wks and 5days. I was thinking I was 11wks 5days cos of my lengthy period.
Still finding it hard to drink water, doc says it's cos of the spitting.

I am feeling like someone put a hose up my a$$ and is pumping air into my stomach my belly feels so tight and I am having this nasty leg ache (was told its restless leg syndrome) i am feeling so outta breath most of the time too plessssssssssssss any suggestions? I can't sleep at night also. I'm so stressed out that dh wishes he could help me carry the pregnancy
November please come fast.....

Sorry oooo, about ur leg, when you lie down, try to raise it up a bit using pillow. About not sleeping at night,try not to eat heavy food at night before bed time or you can compensate for that during the day by treating your self to a nice long sleep

Not sleeping at night is normal. I " suffered" it a lot during my pregnancies. Meanwhile try to take things easy @ outta breath. Remember your body has changed so might wanna do things slower than u used to do.

Welcome on board.
The indigestion can be greatly reduced increasing your fibre( oatmeal, wheat, fruits) intake, drinking lots of water, eating your last meal in the evenings and not at night ( you can snack on nuts and cookies), avoid eating fruits after meals ( eat fruits before or about 2hrs after), spread your meals( take 6 light meals instead of 3 heavy ones). The indigestion is due to the fact that your baby is gradually displacing your organd and the pregnancy hormones are also slowing down all activities including digestion.

For the aches, try massaging with ointments that are safe to use during pregnancy. I dont know any. you can google it, while you are at it, also google how a pregnant woman should lift or bend to pick things up. pregnant women use more of knees than back/ waist to bend. Also the sitting and standing posture matters too.

Palpitations, trembling, tremors, I was so restless.
It was terrible.
Please pulling on your nipples can actually induce contractions / labour, don't do it.
