Pleas to Seun and the Mods
The seemingly annoying activities of Pro-Biafra Monikers here on Nairaland has resulted into what I would term as a "Near death experience of Nairaland's Political section" which if not looked into would affect the drive of traffic to Nairaland. It's really annoying seeing one of the active and very popular section on Nairaland populated by annoying threads of hypocrisy, hate and bigotry summed into one word "Biafra".
I am calling out to the site's administrator as well as mods to see to it that such threads be closed down upon creation and rules should be put in place warning monikers against creating such threads.

How it all started..
A brief history of these acts in what I would term as "inane" peaked here on Nairaland when Goodluck Ebele Jonathan (GEJ) lost the 2015 general elections to Muhammad Buhari. Ever since the loss of PDP at the 2015 polls, "Pro-Biafra" threads have been on the rise.
It has resulted in name tagging and far more worse, the Nigerian state which Nairaland represents in the global online community is being termed a Zoo. It is imperative that counter measures against such actions be put in place against monikers who perpetrate this insane and evil act (yes, I call them evil acts).
There are better ways to tender a secession and if they've chosen to follow the wrong path of Babylon to create their "Biafra" state, Nairaland should not be a base or a platform to carry their online activities.
If they really want Biafra, they should create an online community where Pro-Biafran like minds would discuss "Biafran" issues. History is replete with how the Biafra struggle fell out when the supply of food from the south-west was cut off - such incidence is replaying itself, and Nairaland seems to be their source of food. If truly they can and wish to be self independent, they should start their secession movement from the scratch laying the foundation of their dream state by also creating a biaraland or something elsewhere where they discuss their Jargon or whatever the set is called.
I want to implore the site owner Seun to understand that Nairaland stands to represent Nigeria and any activity that threatens the Nigerian state, threatens Nairaland all together.

Alternative solution/another way out..
Should the site owner and mods feel banning monikers would be too harsh an action, it is suggested that a Biafra section should be created within Nairaland similar to the way an "Islam for Muslims" section was created in the Religion section to curb the acts of the Muslims threatening everyone which extended to the site owner himself.

I want to please beg the mods to please look into this carefully.

@op the one thing that stands out from your writing is that Biafra advocate should not be allowed on NL ( forget the coy : creating a 'special' section for them).

Op at this age and time, I think people are allowed to air their views ( but then we have to make a distinction between airing ones' view and the call for anarchy) more especially in a forum like NL.

Relegating them to a special section is indirectly empowering them and banning them from NL on the other hand is providing fertile ground for their "struggle" (whatever that maybe).

I am an advocate of allowing people to air their view publicly more especially in a forum like NL, this will avail people with good intentions to counter them by pointing out the flaws in their struggle, thereby educating the gullible ones. Allowing them to run amok in the background will actually give them the opportunity to 'infest' the unformed mind and banning them completely will create sympathy, am sure you can attest to that with what is happening up north.

Meanwhile it is quite pathetic that in order to express your frustration you had to bring up the issue of the civil war and how their children and women were starved blah blah.

Another fact remains that all Biafra's might be Igbo's or more concisely Pro-Biafra person are from the SS and SE region of Nigeria.. But not all SE and SS persons are Pro-Biafra

OP, good that you unearthed the root cause of this new crave for Biafra which started since the loss of the presidential election by GEJ.
Like they lost out in their elections calculation, the Biafra issue is dead on arrival.
For all the proponents of Biafra, it takes good planning and strategy to achieve anything if you seek seccession.
Creating a different platform for Biafra is a welcome idea and that can be used to carry out the various activities.
They have their rights to secceed as we have ours to stay where we are.
Can some one help out with the meaning of Biafra in Igbo?

Notice of Correction.. I'm not trying to make myself feel good.. A fact remains and that fact is "I am Good".
We don have a lot in common, starting from the fact that we are both humans, and we are both africans.. The difference between us is culled from the values and morals that makes us who we are.
One who sees and thinks straight thinks of better things and also does what is right and proper, following the correct steps, principles and guidelines. Maybe you might figure out the differences

Bia means come, afra means to join. Therefore Biafra means come and join. It is also a haven for asylum seekers.

I really did see it as a nice way out.. That way, any thread that talks about Biafra or issues relating to it are thrown there...
It be boring just as the Islam section is right now.. That should give them the view - if they can keep active and alive there, they should be able to make their secession happen.
