@Stanley08 , Nice thread. @Modath , cool. You know the truth. I think there are several things people here don't understand about currency and banks. A bank can have 3different exchange rate for once currency. Different rates apllies to platform. Fidelity exchange rate of 199.45 applies only to Business Traveling Allowance which are either ( Business travelling allowance or Personal travelling allowance ). For you to get the Business or personal travelling allowance some documents needs to be provided as proof e.g Visa , flight tickets in case of business travelling allowance you need to provide a Proforma Invoice from the company with company stamps and Contact. If you are a Chinese importer you will understand what I mean. But note there are requirements by the bank for a valid Proforma invoice from china ( Speaking based on experience with first bank ). Also note that most banks will not hand over cash but configure your account in such away that you can redraw more than the CBN Limit of $300 per day outside Nigeria. PTA is limited to $4000 BTA is limited to $5000 @Modath allejo branch is not the only branch that offers PTA there are 5 stanbic branches that of PTA or BTA. And they are 1. Awolowo Branch of Stanbic Bank 2. Lekki Admiralty Branch 3. Idejo Branch 4. Allen Avenue Branch 5. Water Carrinson Branch. All branches are located on the island except one I think that's awolowo ( not so sure ). Phone numbers of the personnel in charge of PTA or BTA in this branches are as follows 1. 0814227962 - Lekki Branch 2. 0814226821 - Allen Avenue. Call only working days. From 8 am. The other option of getting funds is through Form A and Form M. @ Modath why didn't you apply for Form A ![]() Form A - For intangible things ( school fees , hospital / medical bills etc ) Form M - For tangible things ( mostly importers ) . Getting a form M ( hehe you can try sha. But I no discourage you. ) Getting a Form A. ( is relatively easy ), in form A first bank doesn't hand over cash but their procedures is not fail proof. They can send it to a person on the other end. All you do is since you can hand over the cash to your relative over there. Though I heard some banks give the cash. But for you to get Form A you have to give them a proof of your booking with the Hospital. Form M is really not as hard as they paint it. It's just that the Godwin emefiele government has made it extremely difficult. Customs alone will frustrate you. And note do not try bribing any dick and Harry you see at custom office. The other cheap way is Money Gram and Western Union. In fact I will stop here. I think, I just got motivated to share my Outbound money transfer of 47Million in one day two weeks ago. On a new thread I will write detail experience sufferings set back and how I bribed my way through. Will post it this evening. From my experience you will understand what sahara reporters meant when they said saraki laundered money via cards. I will explain. But will not publish bank staff names or keep anything secret secret. In some countries, I don't know of western countries but in countries like China, some people provide service of POS for Money. You slot your card on a POS machine and the owner gives you equivalent cash for a fee. Now note that The limit of $300 does not affect POS or web transaction this means you redraw more than you get. |

@Ymodulus , Thanks a million, i did ask for the form A,( did a few years in banking ops, so know a thing or two ) even filled it with my details to then get here & scan the other docs but last minute enquiries, i found out the hospital doesn't take overseas transfers & card transactions., they only do CASH, MGR's CHEQUE & MONEY ORDER..On the branch thing, i got that from their staff after we asked for PTA,but its great you corrected that. In the US, cash back is free, they are even happy to do it to avoid paying cash handling fees, @ALDI, they give back as much as 200$, that has been my way out. ![]() |
