Last time you guys owned a significant part of lagos properties, now its a significant part of the oil in Nigeria. While i have no reason to contest the succession dreams of the south east, trying to claim things that are not yours as though they are will only lead to an unwanted bloodshed at the end of the day. Do you people want to put your families through that again?

As per the map, it hides the major facts while you all don't know which is that oil production in the south east remains minute.
1. Try and trace the borders of each state rather than looking at only the dots and see how many actually fall into the eastern states. Take a reference of the refinery sign , which is actually in rivers state and the closest to it is Ogoni land , then Akwa ibom state.

2. Shell Bonga field, Chevron Agbami field, Total Akpo field, Exxon Erha field, Total/Exxon Usan field all produce an upwards of 150,000 barrels a day. These 5 deepwater fields produce about 1million barrels of our approx 2million production. Now divide the remaining by this multitude of land fields. You will see that they are all marginal producers.

3. If oil production is that great in the east, the states will get higher derivatives. It cannot be hidden. If you want to argue it name the villages that actually have oilfields in the Imo and Abia lets see how many you come up with. Also find out how many barrels per day these fields produce. Maybe that will stop all of you from this wrong information.
Why bother with deluded half educated mindshuh.......the SS know them well....soon they will be telling them that they own eighty percent of SS oil...like they own eighty percent of lagos and abuja.... cheesy.....

First and foremost am not a Yoruba boy. Am from Delta.

You don't get it. offshore Account to 70% of oil produced in Nigeria. Which I used my tribe as example.

Abeg i nor get strength for talk today.
First bolded: Let me assume you are from Delta. The thread is really about ONSHORE (as the thread topic states) fields.
Second bolded: There is really no way to know how much oil each oilfield shown on the map is producing. This is Nigeria where MASSIVE fraud is going on, and billions of dollars worth of oil stolen annually.
It is happening because my region - Eastern region was diced and carved for easier exploitation.

Such thing could never have happened in the North or in West.
Frankly I blame no one outside of the East. I blame my sleeping and deluded brothers in the East who are busy supporting and defending their own oppressors.

Onshore file produces Little barrel per day. compare to Offshore.

Lolz, The OP is telling us SE owns Nigeria Wealth. Lolz.

This people go mumu tay
They are too emotional to reason things out with their brains.

The fact that cannot be disputed remains the bedrock of the Nation's Oil and Gas wealth lies in the offshore,

If Nigeria really wanted to follow International best practice and international law, all the resources that lies in the territorial sea, Exclusive Economic Zone and Continental Shelf , 200 nautical miles of the belong to the Federal Govt. In the spirit of fairness, it was conceded to the littoral states

According to the ancient common law, international law, landmark cases in the United States, and even indigenous claims in Canada --- The overriding legal precept gleaned from the exercise is that that the national government has greater authority as the sovereign does over offshore land and natural resources. This has been established through the evolution of national admiralty and marines laws, progressively enshrined in the controlling international rules and guidelines called the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea.

The Law of the Sea has fundamentally established the powers of the coastal nation over three key levels of offshore land and resources: Territorial Sea, Exclusive Economic Zone, and Continental Shelf. The Law recognizes the sovereignty of the coastal nation over the water, subsoil and airspace of the immediate outlying portion of the ocean called the territorial sea. This area, which may not exceed 12 nautical miles offshore, begins with a baseline that must be clearly identified, starting with the low-water mark of the land territory.

The Exclusive Economic Zone begins with the territorial sea baseline, but goes beyond to 200 nautical miles. It is called economic zone because it is internationally agreed that the coastal nation regulate, in its interest with due regards to other nations, mineral resource, fishing and scientific activities, among others, within that stretch of water.

The Continental Shelf is described as the submerged prolongation of the landmass of the coastal nation, including the seabed and subsoil of the shelf, as well as the slope and rise.(note) But it does not extend to the subsoil of the deep ocean floor. Sixty miles from the slope of the shelf is the mark the deep ocean floor begins.

the Igbo loves lies and deceit. Onshore oil File produces less Barrel per day compare to Offshore.

We d itsekiri have little Onshore oil field but Our Offshore Oil field alone makes us the richest Tribe in Nigeria. We produces about 40% of Nigeria wealth.

On a normal note the Urhobo/Isoko has more onshore Oil field than us but we produces more than both together with the Ilajes and d entire SE states.

Well let me ignore there foolishness.. Always looking for a way to form Alliance with SS...It shows they re just interested in our oil.
Nobody owns offshore, its international waters and the extent each country owns is determined by their land mass. so northern landmass contribute to the extent of nigerian offshore

Mr. Unemotional, wats ur argument? since the Feds own (or are supposed to own) the offshore resources, why are you now talking rubbish. doesnt it now mean that state by state ownership of onshore will have SE owning a significant percentage?

Busted. See who is claiming intellectual superiority with copy and paste, even shooting himself in the foot in the process. The extent Nigeria own in offshore is a contribution of landmass mainly from the North. Ondo doesnt have oil, States dont own the sea

Una don start ooo. SouthSouth never agree to be Biafra yet you're already making outlandish claims about the oil produced in the South South.

If oil is produced in a landlocked Abia and Imo, how is it going to get to the point of shipment if not by flow lines.

Does that prevent the state where the production field is sited from getting their due derivation?

If your director was not daft and mischievous, he would know better, apparently he has enough gullible minds to pollute.

No one can deny the fact that the largest onshore oil field in the Niger Delta lies within the Egbema axis. The post civil war policies of the victorious Federal forces sliced a huge chunk of the indigenous Igbo oil bearing communities into the SS. My part of Egbema for instance was allotted to Rivers state, while the other half stayed in Imo state. However, for those of us in Rivers state our heart still lies with the main stream SE Igbos.
