IT began as an innocent question but soon degenerated into a heated argument. And what is this question, one might? Between Lagos and Ogun, which has more industries? The Lagos fans would not imagine any state in the country taking the lead in terms of commerce and industrialisation. They were ready to put their last kobo on the line. Nairalanders which of these two states has more Industries..? |

Tight contest but Ogun might have nicked it already at the current pace it's going: https://www.nairaland.com/2322312/ogun-state-nigerias-emerging-industrial http://dawncommission.org/news/ogun-attracts-43-manufacturing-firms-in-3-years/ http://www.vanguardngr.com/2013/06/why-more-companies-are-moving-to-ogun/ http://thenationonlineng.net/ogun-making-industrial-hub/ http://thenewsnigeria.com.ng/2014/08/14/ogun-state-nigerias-new-industrial-hub/ |

Vicotex2:Your are the one deceiving yourself there. You conveniently left out AKS (the largest oil producing state) and Ondo from your map abi? You think say you smart. Smh. Ondo produces more Oil than all the SE state combined. Na fact of the matter be dat.

OkutaNla:You are now swimming on lies that you forgot to put reasnable logic together state allocations is different from oil and gas output from ondo state..... show us how much ondo produce oil locations and the living conditions of the ijaws that inhabit those areas because they are not yoruba...tell me how much oil does borno produce?nigeria foundation was created with lies and deceit... |
| Re: LAGOS Or OGUN Which Of The State Has More Industries..? by OkutaNla: 1:51pm On Jul 21, 2015 |
backtosender:You people just like to whine sha. Your bad belle-ism is approaching insane proportions. Obviously the criteria for disbursement and distribution of the state allocations isn't dependent on Oil alone (even if much of it is). Whichever way you choose to look at it, at least the FG government is of the view that Ondo state and Oyo states (let's not even add Lagos) are more deserving of more allocation than any SE state coz they add more value to the overall economy than you all. Considering all the noise you all make about how you're the shyt and what not, one would have thought it would reflect in the revenue sharing report. The more you contribute, the more you receive. Kapish! |
| Re: LAGOS Or OGUN Which Of The State Has More Industries..? by backtosender: 2:06pm On Jul 21, 2015 |
OkutaNla:so tell us what oyo and ondo contribute to deserve more allocation?if your region contribute much why do u have higher rate of poverty than eastern region?why do osun people queue up for food like almajiris?accept the truth i no shame will not let you we no nigerians specially SW and North dont like the truth anyway...Hey live with your delusion |
| Re: LAGOS Or OGUN Which Of The State Has More Industries..? by OkutaNla: 2:26pm On Jul 21, 2015 |
backtosender:You people are known empty vessels and chest beaters with nothing to show for it. What Oyo and Ondo contribute you asked abi? Well, at least those two states are responsible for at least 70% of Cocoa exports alone (minus other Agric products/Cash crops produced and also export by the region like Tobacco, Cashew e.t.c -- and captured by the FG --). $10billion DOLLARS annual exports no be moi-moi o. SW doesn't even get any 13% derivation from those exports like the SS does on Oil o. Now, what does the SE contribute, please? I need data and figures too, not just the usual chest-beating. Thanx in advance. Nigeria exports $10bn raw cocoa annuallyWhen you talk about poverty rates, according to the UN sponsored report (http://www.dataforall.org/dashboard/ophi/index.php/ , http://www.ophi.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/Multidimensional-Poverty-Index-2015-2-March-2015.pdf?0a8fd7&13666f) : REGIONAL AVERAGES 1 = South West - 19.3% Poverty (+ Average) 2 = South South - 25.2% Poverty (+ Average) 3 = South East - 27.36% Poverty (+ Average) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ** National Avg 46.0%% Poverty ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 4 = North Central - 45.7% Poverty (+Average) 5 = North East - 76.8% Poverty (- Average) 6 = North West- 80.9% Poverty (- Average) That Some Osun Civil servants are being used as political tools of propaganda against the state doesn't translate to the state-wide poverty. Most Osun people are agrarian farmers who can take care of their livelyhood. In a state of at an estimated 5-million only less than 1% are civil servants being affected by the salary palava. Infact, according to the UN report I provided, Osun has less poverty than any SE state. ![]() |

1after:I laugh when they compare Osun to any state apart from Lagos , ogun , rivers , ondo and oyo . Where do they think all the plantain ,yam ,cassava ,vegetables, many of the fruits fruits and industrial raw materials come from. Especially in the south of Nigeria What is coming out of that state in terms of real wealth creation is unbelievable . Second to ondo in cocoa and cashew , kola nut production . Second to ogun in cassava production . Third to ondo and ogun in timber and furniture production , receives most of the international tourist who come to Nigeria ( converts to the Yoruba religion and descendants of slaves tracing their roots).produces most of the Gold ,topaz and aquamarine illegally mined in Nigeria , third to ogun and ondo in granite production. Number 1 in arts and crafts, I can go on and on The only thing the States needs to do is to increase productivity, find a way to include food processing and packaging into the chain , improve the marketing of produce and generating tax revenues from the numerous activities. The state can start by kicking out the NURTW thugs out of the state who have been milking the state out of revenues which ought to go to the government. The same is applicable to other odua states and territories. E.g the corruption at the ojo park alone in Ibadan is said upwards of 4 billion naira every year . The only province of odua States that We are concerned about in case of independence is Ekiti . that state is one conservative shit hole |

princdebola201:Ondo has more reserves (mostly heavy oil) than any other state, actually more than almost all other states put together; does not produce more than any of Delta, Bayelsa, A.Ibom, nor Rivers, it OTOH, produces more than any of the SE states. |
