Lagos is a very depressing city. The pig smell, the traffic, the horrible odour. The roads are death traps. Any body who says eko ni baje dosen't know what spoil really means. Lagos stinks like a decomposing rat in the bedroom. Anyone who quotes me is an idiot

OkutaNla:

You people are known empty vessels and chest beaters with nothing to show for it. What Oyo and Ondo contribute you asked abi? Well, at least those two states are responsible for at least 70% of Cocoa exports alone (minus other Agric products/Cash crops produced and also export by the region like Tobacco, Cashew e.t.c -- and captured by the FG --). $10billion DOLLARS annual exports no be moi-moi o. SW doesn't even get any 13% derivation from those exports like the SS does on Oil o. Now, what does the SE contribute, please? I need data and figures too, not just the usual chest-beating. Thanx in advance.

When you talk about poverty rates, according to the UN sponsored report (http://www.dataforall.org/dashboard/ophi/index.php/ , http://www.ophi.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/Multidimensional-Poverty-Index-2015-2-March-2015.pdf?0a8fd7&13666f) :

REGIONAL AVERAGES
1 = South West - 19.3% Poverty (+ Average)
2 = South South - 25.2% Poverty (+ Average)
3 = South East - 27.36% Poverty (+ Average)

----------------------------------------------------------------------
** National Avg 46.0%% Poverty
----------------------------------------------------------------------

4 = North Central - 45.7% Poverty (+Average)
5 = North East - 76.8% Poverty (- Average)
6 = North West- 80.9% Poverty (- Average)

That Some Osun Civil servants are being used as political tools of propaganda against the state doesn't translate to the state-wide poverty. Most Osun people are agrarian farmers who can take care of their livelyhood. In a state of at an estimated 5-million only less than 1% are civil servants being affected by the salary palava. Infact, according to the UN report I provided, Osun has less poverty than any SE state. cheesy

The southwest have never required oil money to function within the Nigerian entity. We actually receive less from oil allocation compared to what the FG carts away from our region annually. Most of the nearly N600billion naira shared between the FG and the States came from the SW. Oil revenue constitute only 30% of the money, the rest from non-,oil sources- majorly taxes from the SW.

The SE contributes only 1.7% of the 30% oil revenue and they are the ones who will stop shouting our OYEL in this forum.

And more mass delusion by these people.
How many industries and industrial complexes are in ogun state?
Lagos has the highest number of industries in Nigeria, followed by Abia and then anambra state. Kano comes next and then maybe ogun state.

989900:

Ondo has more reserves (mostly heavy oil) than any other state, actually more than almost all other states put together; does not produce more than any of Delta, Bayelsa, A.Ibom, nor Rivers, it OTOH, produces more than any of the SE states.
This is the kind of BS you would expect from an afonja.

No basis for comparison.

Lagos alone controls more than 70% of Nigeria's commercial activities. If you check out the list of the top industries in Nigeria. See this post. you'll agree that most of those industries are resident in Lagos by the way.
