FYI, mmost of those that died are rich enough to pay nigeria families social security. They have made billions from this illicit trade, but greed will not let them turn away from the act. Most of the elements who carry out these acts are cultists, hardened motor park touts, disengaged riverine militants and retired military men. The routes are well known, shimawa, magboro, arepo all through the swamps to ikorodu. Bunkering is a way of life in these communities. Go there and see for yourself.
u kno dis areas well, including ebute in ibafo

at ebute, ibafo, the DPO of that ibafo police station goes dere himself to make sure dose bunkerers have a smooth moment. What a country, shame! I reported dis to the police number provided by IG but notin as bin done yet
Imagine such arrant display of corruption. At Agric Ishawo bunkering is the order of the day and there is a police division in that place, all the policemen and women do there is to stand by the road side and start collecting money from bunkerings that are driving home with stolen fuel in kegs and giant nylon bags. These vandals use very expensive cars including jeep and SUVs in transporting the stolen pms.

What if the govt ordered their dislodgement and see to it that it is carried out.
The truth is bribery and corruption as well as get rich quick has destroyed the moral values of so many Nigerians, be they ministers, commissioners, governors, security personnels, bank workers, ministry workers, senators, doctors, lawyers and what have you. Unless we change our attitudes in this country. I just pity Buhari if he can successfully fight corruption to a stand still. Imagine billions of dollars disappeared into thin air.

I was in place, an estate in Lagos, something happened that beat my imagination, an over head tank that we thought it was storing water fell down and got broken, lo and behold it was raw cash that was inside this broken tank. I am weeping for the future of this country.

The way some people react and make comments on this platform, I do wonder if what is in there head is brain or mud. I think human beings are created to reason more highly than animals, that is why we are different from animal. But the way some people reason, I don't know...... I think this should be a forum where we can air our views reasonably, discuss, argue and agree, learn and educate one another. I think what is good is good irrespective of who does it whether friend or enemy, and vice versa.

U haven't even seen nothing. Do u know how many of the filling stations u see around ikorodu depend solely on vandals product? Many has built and lived on this business for ages.

I thought the army has taken over pipeline protection undecided the almajiris are now, bursting their own propaganda.
I was still in Arepo last week and the situation was pathetic. The ijaws are perpetrating this bastard act on daily basis and in the full glare of publicity without anybody to challenge them. These guys are working day and night vandalizing pipelines; their marketers are always available minutes by minutes.

The irony of it is that army, police, and mopols are there monitoring the gate and movement of vehicles in and out of the estate. But instead to stand against this vandalism, they were just there to collect bribes without even hiding it, that's all.

The DPO of Ibafo and Warewa cannot deny the knowledge of all these: they just send their boys to collect daily 'rogers' for them to wack. What a shame!

Why must you spread false hood.

Pipeline vandalisation in arepo is older than 10yrs and it is on a daily basis..

The vandals settle police, civil defence and army.

30% of the residents in arepo are into bunkering the chief bunkerer is the baale

The remaining 70% helpless as even tho they ve complained to Police. They do nurin abt it

Infact ur life could be in danger if they found out u reported them cos police worl with this vandals

Opc was only trying to lay claim to the pipeline so thay vandals will also settle them instead of settling just police nd civil defence

the problem is high level of corruptn from enforcement officers

also nnpc officials gives the vandal intelligence abt d pipeline while pms is pumped nd how it can be accesed .They also ve their share

so how is the problem connected to vigilante that also take part

E.g.Niger delta ex millitants that guard pipeline nd water ways in d creek are the chief bunkerers

AustineE1:
Some of us tried very hard to explain why PMB must allow the local vigilantes(eg OPC and other regional vigilantes)to man the pipelines in their locality but APC came with their usual propaganda, with the aid of a section of the media and the idea was jettisoned, for them every decision is about politics. All in an effort to ridicule GEJs administration and now many Nigerians have died in an avoidable incident, which ordinarily OPC who were formerly incharge, cldnt ve allowed the vandalization in the first place.
This is still a call for state police!
May they souls of the dead rest in peace,as they died trying to survive in a country that never knew they ever existed!

Good for them. They are all thiefs. States that produces the oil don't reap their labors but those that don't produce are the one that steal our oil. Thiefs die. No sympathy for them.
It seems u don't know the vandals are from the Ijaw extraction....
