Is This Man Action Justified? by Nobody:
My neighbour and his wife have been married for the past two years but just recently tragedy struck leading to divorce on ground of infedility on the woman"s part.. The man"s properties were shared among the two children after that the man went abroad with the other child leaving the woman with the younger one. Two days ago,we learnt the man was in town,so the ex-wife went to the man house demanding for more money for the child upkeep, instead of harkening to her request, the man not only arrested her but sent some youths to evade the woman"s store... Now my question is_:_ is the man action justified? even if divorced is the man not suppose to care for the other child? Cc: lalasticlala.

Wetin concern the wife whether he cheat abroad or not? Una never divorce? He no go live hin life again?

Wetin concern cheating with demanding for upkeep for the child? Una never share hin property? Una never divorce?

When the man took one child and madam took the other child didn't she know that means she is to cater for her own while the man caters for his own? And that any other thing he does for the other child is out of the benevolence of his heart? Why dragging your child to demand for upkeep?

The wife has no locus standi in this matter AT ALL. She is simply being emotional. Advice her next time to keep away from oga when he comes to town!

How do you mean cheated on the woman after when they've divorced?
Re: Is This Man Action Justified? by okirewaju(f): 12:03pm On Jul 23, 2015
Confused much

When they signed the divorce papers what was the final agreement? That would determine if the man is liable to take care of the child with his ex- wife or not. Is the mother expected to use the proceed/cash or rent of the properties for the child's upkeep?

But for the arrest and all that I think its not necessary. He would have respected the fact that the wife is the mother of his children.

the woman is deluded for demanding any more money from her ex, or even talk of cheating, the day they divorced AND SHE TOOK HALF HIS PROPERTY (after only 2 yrs of marriage, kai!!!!) is the day she got all she should get out of this unfortunate deal.

the man is insane for reacting the way he did, instead he should have simply ignore her, OR better yet, propose to take away the other child from her, if she cant care for it properly.

In divorce cases it is the court that makes decisions and not the parties.

If the court demands the man pays the woman for children upkeep, good. But if not, that's left for the man to decide.

But the woman can't just walk up to him demanding for money. The child should be sent to his father, If she can't take care of the child.

The thing that pains me in this story is the fact that the kids were separated.
And not just separated but the course of their lives may be so far different and they have not much in common
They wont share those growing up joys one has with siblings doing things together and bonding together
One comes back with a british accent while the other one is a born and bred naija kid
They are so far apart that they cant just go and see each other at the weekend if one is missing the other
Divorce mostly affects kids
Those kids may never share a close brother sister relationship again
Ive seen this happen before. One was brought up in the UK and the other in Nigeria. They evenually attended the same university in Nigeria but they were not friends talk less of brothers anymore. Very sad.

She went demanding money after she got half his assets, after she was caught gbenshing up and down? The man has done the right thing by arresting her, she should she should tried for fraud and blackmail and slapped with a restraining order to boot. grin

PS: She should transfer then other child to the father too if she can't cater for him.

It's not justified. The man is still pained.

Well, op...d justification lies in what was contained in the divorce papers. They might have agreed that the woman wil take care of d younger one while d man takes care of the other.

if she had respected the fact that he is the father of her child, she wouldn't have gone to him for more money.

Besides what type of stupid parents split children because of divorceundecided
