spectabilis:What is this one saying again ![]() Your Jesus said the disciples shall see the apocalypse (i.e darkening of the sun, falling of the stars, coming of the false Christs, e.t.c) and the coming of the Son of man in his Kingdom (which I quoted) and the likes of Ayoku777 and Lampardizik were attempting to gives "Kingdom" another meaning in order to save the Lord's arse from that obviously false prophecy and in order to hammer more nails to the coffin, I explained what Jesus meant by "kingdom" what wrong did I do ![]() We're still on course, Christ hasn't come in his Kingdom, the disciples are all dead and the prophecy is a failed prophecy. Simple. |

He that has ears let him hear what the spirit is saying. There is no repentance in the grave. As all propheses concerning the birth, death and resurrection of Christ came to fulfilment, so shall the second coming of Christ come to pass. Christ is coming back again to take the elects. Let us have our lamps filled with oil and not be caught unaware like the foolish virgins. The love of many will continue to wax cold and many will derail/backslide as the end draws near in fulfilment of the scriptures. For those of us who are still running the race, let us also be watchful. May the Lord uphold us to the end. Amen. |

Reiyvinn:Seek understanding and you shall find it. It has been shown that "Christ coming in His kingdom" is not referring to the second coming of Jesus Christ at the end of the world. You yourself quoted Matthew 16:28 and Mark 9:1 and it has been explained to you that the kingdom is already established. This has nothing to do with apocalypse, except that if you are not in that kingdom, you will be at the wrong side of judgment when the apocalypse eventually come. Study the word of God diligently with the intention of knowing and obeying and God may bless you with understanding. The problem is that you read the bible to find fault. Read Matthew 13:14-15. I hope your situation don't get that bad. |

Reiyvinn:I told you to read Daniel 2 to understand the statement of Jesus. The millenial reign is when the kingdom will be physically established on the earth but that is not when the kingdom came or was set up. The kingdom according to Daniel 2v44 was set up in the days of the kings of the roman empire; at the time of Christ's death and resurrection. The stone that was cut out without hands hit the foot of the statue representing the roman empire; and started growing; destroying all the other kingdoms, until it became a great mountain that covered the whole earth. Let me ask you. Was it when the mountain covered the whole earth that it came? No! It came as a stone, and it grew side by side other elements (kingdoms), until it destroyed them and covered the whole earth. The millenial reign of Christ is when the kingdom will cover the whole earth, but that is not when it came. The kingdom came and was set up at the resurrection of Christ. But for now it is still growing side by side Babylon (the kingdom of darkness). And it will grow until it destroys Babylon and it covers the whole earth. Satan too has his kingdom, and it is still presently on earth as well; because that of Christ has not covered the whole earth. The kingdom has come but it is still growing, being established in the hearts of men. It is not when the kingdom covers the whole earth at the millenial reign that it came; it came as a little stone since when Jesus rose. You yourself said this: Reiyvinn:This is exactly what Jesus meant when He said; Matthew 28v18 -And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All authority is given unto me in heaven and in earth. The sovereignty over heaven and earth has been given unto Jesus by the Father since after His resurrection. Jesus is already in authority over all the earth, but He is not enforcing His reign over the earth just yet. He is still establishing His kingdom and growing it in the hearts of men. What you're trying so hard to say is that it is when the kingdom covers the whole earth that it came. You're wrong. It came and was set up since Christ's resurrection. The kingdom has come, and it is growing side by side that of the devil, until it will destroy that of Babylon and cover the entire earth. Those who saw the resurrected Christ in the flesh, in His glorified, incorruptible body, "saw the Son of man come in His kingdom" because that was when the kingdom came and was set up according to Daniel 2. And then that other verse you've been quoting out of context, let me address it too. Matthew 24v34 -Verily I say unto you this generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled. Now when you read it alone like this, it looks as if Jesus was talking about the generation of those that were listening to Him there and then. But when you read the preceeding two verses together with it, that statement takes a possible new meaning. Let me show you; Matthew 24v32-34 -Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh: So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors. Verily I say unto you this generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled. Jesus said, when the tender branch of a tree putteth forth leaves, we know summer is near. Meaning that when we witness the beginning of sorrows (Matthew 24v8) we know that the coming of Christ is near, even at the door. So when Jesus, said "this generation" shall not pass till all these things be fulfilled". He wasn't necessarily talking about the generation hearing him there and then; he was talking about the generation that will witness the beginning of sorrows. Read it again; Matthew 24v33-34 -So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors. Verily I say unto you this generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled. It means the generation that will witness the beginning of sorrows, will not pass till all these things (the preaching of the gospel of the kingdom, tribulation and the second coming of Christ) be fulfilled. That is what the verses meant. "This generation" refers to the generation that will witness the beginning of sorrows. The generation that will witness the beginning of sorrows, will also witness the preaching of the gospel of the kingdom, the tribulation and the second coming of Christ. It means this generation that sees the beginning of these things, will see its fulfilment (end). That is, the beginning of sorrows and the second coming of Christ will happen in the same generation. You need to read the three verses together with the same stream of thought to see the context. God bless you. |

The world will not end. Everything in the bible is allegorical. Do not take each word as dictionary meaning. |

I trust my "christian brethren" to play the holy spirit card. They Will say: " only those with holy spirit can understand the bible". The questions they always avoid are : 1, When can we say that a person has the holy spirit ? 2.If 5 people who claim to have holy spirit gave 5 different interpretations to the same verse , does that mean there are 5 different holy spirits ? 3, How do you know your "own" holy spirit is the right one ? |

Religion was a useful weapon of control in the early centuries. Religions are just traditions ritualized and customs spiritualized. The intelligence of each religion has more to do with the knowledge base of their inventors. Islam happens to be more barbaric, Christianity is less barbaric, Buddhism, Hinduism, Taoism etc are a little less barbaric and eccentric. But in all of these religions there are multiples of lies interwoven to cover other lies. If Jesus is coming back, that means he is presently somewhere doing press-up and waiting for the alarm bells to ring. My question is, which planet is Jesus. I have heard so much about heaven and I ask, which planet is heaven. Most answers says its spiritual and I ask then Jesus is spiritual and has to be born into human flesh for us to see him, so he cant possibly descend from sky. I read those days that Jesus ascended to the sky, and I ask, oxygen is not available up there and no planet around is habitable by human body, where is he ? Hell fire issue is another one that puzzles the mind. Can fire burn spirit, cos I believe we only go to hell when we die and live as spirit. So, fire can burn spirit. I have given up on religion, I cant actually chose to be stupid when I know better. |

@Reiyvinn, My brother you definitely need the holy spirit to understand these things. Dude is doing a good job with the amount of different interpretations and understanding that abounds in this thread and all around the world. NB: All sarcasm intended! |

Reiyvinn:If you don't believe in it dont try to spoil what others believe in or try to create a controversy here, Christianity, salvation is a personal race. God will not reveal everything, we cannot comprehend that which is unknown. Therefore leave it as it is. A man who tries to be very wise before God is a fool. If you dont like Christianity, leave it. Can become a satanist or athiest. Or whatever. |

Does the OP think the word " generation" means " people of the same kind"? Well jesus's story is about the Sun and zodiac signs. Yes the Sun has come back again, again and again millions of time. Only deluded christians will wait to see an Arab guy in the sky. |
| Re: The Second Coming: A Failed Prophecy??? by freecocoa(f): 11:29am On Jul 26, 2015 |
They should keep waiting, sometimes I even think these christians know some of these things but fear constrains them. The most annoying thing is telling someone he/she needs the holy spirit to understand plain English, like wtf? Why is the holy spirit needed only to understand the bible, if that were to be the case, why not just write the bible in holy spirit language instead of english? Religion is an insult walai. |

Reiyvinn:To argue if Jesus Christ even existed places ur claim as a Christian on hollow n shame. Please read Mathew 24 vs 1 down to 30 or read further for clear understanding. I guess u and ur so called pastor friend alike are mentioned there. Also read revelation chapter 20 and 21 if u still doubt second coming. To all true Christians read this blasphemous thread Please read Mathew 24: 4 (and Jesus answered and say to them, take heed that no man deceive you) |
| Re: The Second Coming: A Failed Prophecy??? by free2ryhme: 11:32am On Jul 26, 2015 |
Reiyvinn:If you truly question the second coming of Christ as a Christian u claim to be then I don't if you are truly born again to have doubted the bible. Without faith it is impossible to please God. I am not here to argue out truths in the bible about the end of the world however you will need the Holy Spirit to understand that God himself has his own timing for everything. He may delay but it is not denial. There are certain prophecies that precedes Christ second coming until they are fulfilled there is still time for people to be redeemed. You don't want to go to heaven alone, do you? Preach the good news and not doubt the bible. |
