Brings back fond memories of the 80's and 90's. I grew up around 4 Peugeot 505's. We always referred to them by their number plates. SR's LA 5097, GL LA 2591, 7868, 2179. GOOD OLD DAYS!

OP, you can have a public exhibition of these old cars for those who were not born when they were popular in Nigeria.
They bring back some memories.

Good choice. I doubt its pristine availability in Nigeria given our history of vehicle maintenance.

This car was already a classic even in the eighties.
this is the car @ Banter1 dad has back then

Below is my new found love i recently acquired.w124 aka vboot. I have taken its full restoration as a project i am very passionate about. I have worked on all four wheels replacing all worn shocks, link track rods & all bushings. Next, i'll replace all four tyres with new ones and then carry out some work on the interior. My next will be to get a Peugeot 505 GTi cleaner than ikenna's grin

This is my baby, Peugeot 505 V6 5-speed manual, 1986 production. Picture was taken recently.

I am the only guy that drives a V6 505 in Abuja city, and a clean one. The gaze I get from people while driving past is thrilling, with my windows up.

I love that Lion!

Ikenna
You can say that again
Re: Chasing Classic Cars In Nigeria by bellong:
I do drive a Mercedes Benz 200, 1979. Four speed manual transmission.

I have this emotional attachment to the car, I couldn't leave her to buy another vehicle.

One day, on Ilorin- Ogbomoso expressway, a Toyota Camry tried to show his 4cylinder engine can move better than my old wife. I taught him a lesson that being old does not mean weakness on the road.

I drove past him, honk my horn and made this scornful smile at him. I love that car...

@200km/h, it still drives firm and strong compared to those plastic cars that feel like paper when you reach 120km/h.

As yet, all those Peugeot 504/505/04
will hardly ever qualify for Classic. No way.
Even Toyota Crown is not seen as a Classic yet.
AGE!AAGE! And AGE define Classic and not my Dad had a car like this or that.
Imagine someone mention a Bluebird on this thread of Classic cars!!
Do not spoil the peace on this thread. This is one of the few threads on NL where there is no insult nor unnecessary fights. Loving this from Douala!

How I wish NLanders could just start this craze of going back, to revamp these and give them a meaning again.
