Its a good development, so far their knowledge will help to combat the Boko haram menace.

This to show that if war start today, Nigeria has not. Even small country like Egypt will wipe Nigeria out.
Re: Nigerian Army Re-engages Retired Soldiers by kwenu: 3:38pm On Jul 31, 2015
whats the use engaging those retired generals /old soldiers, isnt that of a more burden to the military, this is not a good development because how do you pay them, also with the new recruits.

our armed forces should do more on intelligence gathering by aquiring IT gadgets that can help in the fight against terorsm, this is the secrete of the USA(INFORMATION GATHERING THOUGH IT DEVICES)

our military has been relying on thier old tactics

every youth in the country should be involved into intelligence gathering through IT devices, A situation where you have IT CAMERAS Mounted everywhere by anybody to keep watch day and night, i tell you , we will have a better security at a lesser cost

my thoughts though

hope it's not a design to just return retired northerners back into the army?

From this news we can see the military is coyly filling up manpower gaps using old hands. Good, better old men die for the country than young bloods about to join -- they've already lived their lives, most young men're yet to have children.
Re: Nigerian Army Re-engages Retired Soldiers by Femistico(m): 3:53pm On Jul 31, 2015
A very good development..

I heard someone on a radio station suggested this in d early morning of today...they (rtd) are more experienced and will teach our younger blood soldiers on how to go to war...most of dis new young soldiers ave not gone to a war zone before buh our rtd buh nt tired soldier will sensitive and give some tutorials to dis yung blood on how to tackle insecurity in the N.E of Nigeria bcuz they've been fighting on a war arena several years ago...

so let them bring dere experience back to the military camp and dis will help alot...

What for? That is not necessary because they refused training the young ones all so they can be called back. Let them go please. Someone please tell Buhari that this is not the change I voted for.

It's only in zoo like Nigeria that such is done ?Everything unthinkable happens here.

Before you do the wailing for us,we are already on it.
We will keep wailing ,like Israelites in Egypt, until we are set free from this zooo.
Do I need to remind you how many years Moses and his people do the wailing? 400 years . And guess what, at the appropriate time freedom came calling and the were allowed to go.

Before now anything Biafra seemed disgusting but not any more.
We don't stand a chance in this country atall.
The west are promising to drown us in lagoon and they North has stated emphatically that we would be treated like an outcast for making our choice at the poll.

What a country?
I wail in Achebe's voice "there was a country"
Finally, for the mods, I say big thanks for the ban.

Then why retire them in the first place. What is going on in this country. Is there anyone, just anyone, that knows what to do.

Good development,
What is good about re-engaging retired and tired generals who don't have touch with modern technology? It is an awfully bad decision.

I have never responded to the foools calling for Biafra but let me tell u something u might not have heard: are you aware your Biafra is something 90% of Nigerians are praying for? The only problem is that the dumb leaders we have don't even know their left from right and as such have no idea but the idea that 'Nigeria must be one', except that nija is far far far better without u Ibo's. And quote me in 20 years time - Biafra will be the most looted and poorest country in the whole world, u biafrans are going to suffer more than the tire on a V8 motor, watch and see. If I were buhari I will sign Biafra off before even appointing ministers, useless people. So u think what makes a country is only hard work? U Ibo's as usual will shoot yourself in the leg again

Your people are destined to sell spare parts so leave politics and military to the Yoruba and Hausa. You guys can never achieve Biafra because if you are allowed to go your way you will beat your chest. It is better you live in perpetual servitude within one Nigeria.

Experience counts.
My dear you are right, but do not forget that most of these retired Officers served when there was no insurgency in Nigeria, therefore where did they get the experience that is required to face this current phenomenon of terrorism which is our pressing security issue? I think it would be better to train and retrain the ones in active service on how to fight this menace with the necessary armaments (Just thinking aloud anyway).
